Absolute Hammer load data

I'm a bit late to the Absolute Hammer party but getting geared up to smash !

Got me a box of the 7mm 130 gr Absolute Hammers recently for my Rem 700 in 7mm-08, got a couple die set up/ bullet seating depth dummy cartridges loaded up in Lapua brass, fl sized & trimmed to 2.025", dies set up to load the 130 Absolutes to the standard 2.80" coal for initial load development ...

Haven't yet read all of the 85 pages of this awesome Hammer thread (I will) and wondering if someone has messed with the 130 Absolutes in the 7mm-08 ?

I have all the current bullet mfr reloading manuals along with a bookcase full of all previous issues and from checking out the powders that work best, I have determined that I have all the usual powders needed on hand and ready to load, got a bunch of Fed 210 & Win WLR primers as well

Just wondering what has worked for those who have messed with the 130 gr Absolutes and what's the trick in loading them for "absolute" velocity with accuracy ?

Will share all my findings once I get there ...

Thanks guys

You know the nay Sayers won't believe it
Bean your probably right what is your opinion I can get a little more out of this bullet , I have tried H4350 just a little too fast and I need too save my rl19 for the 25-284 I don't have anything burn rate in between do you thing I'm good vel wise with that bullet it's going too be a tack driver.

I'd let her eat
. New ladder test same everything except cci200 primers and 2 more grs of powder with Steves advice it went like this 62 grs 3517 62.5 grs 3555 63 grs 3576 63.5 grs 3616 64 grs3649 64.5 grs 3683 and 65 grs at 3728 fps . Ivan go a little more but that's about it on powder space I could get it up too 3800 fps but I fill that would be too hard on the pockets this test was the 3rd firing on Hornady brass and primers are still tight 7 shots 1.125 6 shots .780 with 3 of those shots in the same hole .

I'm just switching to the absolutes in couple of rifles and looking for some advice. I'm going to try the 139gr in a 270 Weatherby and the 73gr in a 22 creedmoor gas gun. Any suggestions on starting powders/burn ranges? When they say the absolutes like a fast powder, is it fast for caliber, or whole nother burn range fast? I'm thinking H4831 range for the weatherby, but could go H4350 or even H414. For the creedmoor I was thinking something in the H4350 range, or up to H414, could even go IMR4064. Powders I have are IMR4064, H414/W760, IMR4350, H4350, StaBall, Ramshot Hunter, H4831SC, MRP, Magpro.

Another question, is neck tension a substitute for crimp? I found a Lee Factory crimp die for the weatherby, but haven't been able to find one for the creedmoor. Would a smaller bushing be sufficient, or would a 22-250 crimp die work on the creedmoor?

Thanks

If you have not already, you'll want to confirm your .270 wby barrel has a 1:9 twist. Most are 1:10, and the 139gr Absolute will not achieve adequate stability in a 'factory' twist barrel
