The Warp 7 claims yet another victim! 489 yds 3-4 mph wind condition at 8'oclock and right at 5:30 made the mistake of coming across the power line easment! The 150 SMK leaving the muzzle at 3290 did the job very nicely.

Saw quite a few deer as well but no monsters---they are chasing the girls as you can see in the last pic.

Thanks--this was a smaller sow but make no mistake they will tear you a new one if they can. Hopefully, will get to get rid of a few more this weekend but because my daughter came in from school only hunted 1 eve and one morn last weekend.

I hate the pigs with a passion--tear up everything they can and the deer hate to be around them! Will take another pic this weekend of the remains--between the other pigs, coyotes, buzzards and fire ants there will be nothing but maybe the skull and the rib cage. I always get the bottom tusk to give to people so they will know how SHARP that bottom tusk is! Will cut you like a knife.

Are they any good to eat, or are they just varmints? We don't have them where I hunt and have heard of folks hunting them but always assumed that they were meat hunting.....???

VERMIN!! Plain and simple they are shot on sight and left for the buzzards 99% of the time. A little piglet is tasty or a young one less tha 100lbs IMHO but the problem is they are usually shot in the summer early fall where the temps are high and that makes for challenge to process.

This is how the TPWD addresses hunting Feral Hogs "A landowner or landowner's agent may kill any nongame wildlife other than threatened or endangered species at any time in any number, provided the wildlife is not used in a commercial activity." Furthermore states that a Hunting License to kill Feral Hogs is not required if: "Depredating feral hogs, if a landowner (resident or non-resident) or landowner's agent or lessee is taking feral hogs causing depredation on the landowner's land."..

Both our Federal and TPWD Biologists have told us that they are the biggest threat to indigenous wildlife that exists in our area and that includes man.

What exactly is a "Warp 7"...if you don't mind me asking?

I won't be surprised if I get a simple answer back...I'm sure It's a stupid question?

The Warp 7 is based on an improved 300 Win. First form the neck and then fire form--less body taper and a 35 degree shoulder. I did not name it Speedy did---the old Star Trek was one of his favorites!! It was designed to be a LR BR cartridge but the reamer had never been used so I tried it out. Shoots .3 and sometimes .2 out of that sporter configuration. The tube is a Krieger, action is Kodiak, Jewell Trigger, McMillan Stock, Speedy Rings, HS Precision Bottom Metal and Mag (I bead blasted it to match the rest of the rifle), Speedy Brake and a USO Scope.

So, basically all you do is take a .300 Win. Mag. & neck it down to a .284 bullet....correct?

Judging by the picture, it almost seemed that there were 2 "necks" in the casing? The standard neck...then another one (much shorter than the first), near where crest (where the projectile enters)?

Or is merely an optical illusion, from where the neck is crimped to the bullet?

Deer...I wanna see what it will do to a deer...I kind of like the way this "Warp 7" caliber sounds...

How much would you charge to rebarrel a Ruger M77 MK-II 7mm Rem. Mag. with one of those same "Warp 7" barrels EXACTLY like the one in the pictures?

And true-up & square-up everything?
