rust on dies

will ultrasound take rust off dies
I use 0000 steel wool with a mix of Turtle Wax Chrome Polish and WD-40. Chuck up a ¼" wood dowel in a drill, wrap with a small amount of steel wool, and carefully polish. Works great and is such a mild abrasive the change to the interior dimensions will be negligible (any polishing will remove some material).

To clean the outside of the die, I simply use the wire wheel on my bench grinder (not sure of thickness of the stands but they are thin wires).

Evaporust works amazingly well.

Vinegar and distilled water has always worked great for me removing rust on anything. On dies, I just take them apart and soak them over night and wipe them off. If the rust is on the heavy side, I use a nylon brush and scrub them a little to clean it off.

Please share the proportion of Vinegar to water that you mix up. Thanks
