Carbon barrels

They shoot great. Will weigh about 4 ounces heavier than proof. Finish is not as nice as a proof or a Benchmark but they definitely hammer!

They all make good bbls, I have several of all 3. Proof are the absolute lightest but they are hit and miss for speed. Some are fast and some are dog slow. I've only ever had one proof that didn't shoot and they took care of me, no questions asked. Both Benchmark and Bartlein are slightly heavier and both have 5R rifling. I prefer that over a 4 groove personally. If I was trying to build the absolute lightest gun, proof would be my choice no doubt. If I could live with another 4-5 ounces on my gun, I'd take a hard look at the other 2. Carbon 6 is another one that has shot very well for me. Not to try and confuse the situation more but thought I'd throw it out there. My sheep rifle wears a proof, my elk rifle wears a Benchmark, my Mexico Coues rifle wears a Bartlein 😂

No not at all I had a carbon six ordered and something got missed up . From A distributor And ended up not having it in stock. So I can get a proof , benchmark, or bartlein right now all 24" and 1-9twist. I have shot proof carbon, the speed things does worry me. I'm building a 30 Sherman to run bullets faster. And would suck to get a really slow barrel. Benchmark I have one on my 270wsm shoots lights out by It a SS barrel. So the 4 extra Oz wouldn't bother me be between the two benchmark and bartlein what one would you lean to if both were in stock?

I have one Bartlein CF Sendero. On a 6.5SS. It seems to be a normal speed. Not fast, not slow. But less than 100 rounds down it so far. And crazy accurate. Not picky either. I have another 6.5mm Bartlein CF just waiting on a reamer, and a third sitting on a shelf waiting for inspiration.

I had a frustratingly slow Proof. it was a 4-groove. But, I also have 6 other Proofs that are getting VERY good speeds and exceptional accuracy, all are 5-groove though. And a 7th Proof that might be a touch slow, but I have less than 60 rounds, so I am not going to judge yet. But very accurate.

I would get a carbon Wilson #4 if you want light. Check out Ragged Holes Barrels.

Or a Bettin/Satern...Christensen...Oregon Mountain Rifle...Hells Canyon Armory...Stand Alone Barrels...X-Caliber...

Many many options to choose from.

Good too know about the C6 barrel (mcgowen), because I'm putting together a 300wm on a savage110 action.
