Do you all have a go to kit for processing deer? Im talking about what knives you are using to cut up your deer or other game meat post skinning. Im kind of tired of using a standard hunting knife and or kitchen knives

These are all safe queens the one that gets worn out is the 6 inch Forschner semi stiff boning knife

Nope...no kit just a couple main knives. I have used my hunting knives and stopped out of me being cheap and lazy. My hunting knives now are SV30 steel and hard to sharpen quickly. They stay sharp as heck for a long time, I just like a different blade for processing. It is all about what you like to use. I love an oiled wood handle. My main knife is a "cheap" Victronix boning knife....has the curved blade (about 6") and wood handle. I sanded the handle and oiled it, and a "cheap" Rapala 8" fillet knife sanded/oiled. So, I guess I really only have one for meat processing....the Victronix boning knife since I use the fillet knife on fish too.

Nope...same double bladed knife used to disassemble in the field....

Hahaha you made my day and brought back so many memories with this post......my dad always used his Boker 3 blade pocket knife he got in Germany while overseas in the 50's. They rebuilt it I know at least once when I was alive for him. It sits in my safe and it had dug a lot of slivers out of my fingers and arse so I enjoy seeing and touching it every now and then. I currently use my Buck Vantage pocket knife more than I do my "hunting knife" field processing and quartering. Love it, Love it, love it.

I use a kit from Weston.I threw away the cheap hack saw that comes in the kit and put a pair of Shears in it's place.Way better.
That is what I use but like others I have plenty of knives.Several customs and other knives from various makers like Kershaw,Puma and others I can't remember right now

I mainly use a 6" flexible curved knife and a stiffer boning knife. Does the job well enough for now. Will invest in a saw in the future.

Forgot to add a Cold Steel Master Hunter and several Bokers.
When I was a kid I saved for months to buy a case pocket knife and I have cleaned more hogs, deer and a few bears with that pocket knife.
One of the best and wish I had it back today.
