Least fussy mono-metal bullet?

Had the same woes as you with the Barnes TSX…just could not get them to group worth a heck.
Just recently I bought a 300 RUM, can't get dies, so looked high and low for ammo. Only ammo I could get was Barnes TTSX and LRX.
I have to say I am pleasantly surprised, the 165g TTSX put 12 shots into less than an inch off my regular bag set-up off my homemade bench. The 180g TTSX proved to be the same as 5 shots went into a ragged hole.
I also have 190g LRX to try out, which was supposed to happen this weekend, but the weather was woeful.
I have to say I am impressed, as my previous experience had me telling everyone that Barnes bullets don't shoot.

Have shot Barnes TTSX and Hammer. Both have shot well, but my nod is to the Hammer. Better terminal performance IMHO.

I've ran the 122 6.5mm Cayuga in a creed, prc and saum. Every rifle was sub moa immediately and once load was tuned, shot well under half moa. Very easy load development. I've also shot the 7mm 154? In my older 7max and they shot well. My 300wsm hast done well with the 178s but it's a very picky barrel, I don't like it. I've tried 22,25,6.5,7mm and 30 cal hammers and to me they seem more jump sensative than the Cayuga. Everyone rants and raves on hammers, I walked away from them unimpressed. I was able to get the 22 and 6.5 to shoot well, under half moa at distance but took quite a bit of time to get it. Their stated bc is okay to 450-500y, but after that it falls off like a brick. If you run their stated bc, you'll likely need 15% more dial at distance. The Cayuga matched up just fine for me, the ballistics were quite impressive at 3450fps.

Barnes TTSX if on a bit of a budget; they are also very, very reliable killers. I shoot the 185 gr. in my lightweight 338-06 at just over 2900 fps.

Cutting Edge (either the Lazer of MTH). Unbelievably accurate in my 338 Lapua improved.

I'm going to be bold and say that if lighter for caliber Hammers and TTSX don't work nothing is going to work.

I have seen a post between 1650-1700 FPS for Cayuga bullets but not on 122. "I" personally will not keep it under 1800 FPS.

What bullet weight are you using in your .338 LM? I've had some keyholes with using Cutting Edge in the heavier bullets.

I tried hammers in my 270 win several years ago when nothing else would work and within 14 shots I had my load figured out. .68 moa group at a hundred yards. I'm still shooting that load and it has performed very well on deer. 117gr shock hammer loaded with 60gr of h4831 has been very devastating on deer.

I have been shooting the first gen Badlands's because of @codyadams for two years now on whitetail only. Ive shot whitetails from 167yards to 648 yards. Last year everything was perfect, shot placements performance etc out of the badlands, this year my shot placements because of rushed shots have been less than stellar and I lost a couple . Not the bullets fault but the nut behind the gun.

I would like to try their BD2 line but after this year I'd like to try the 156 Berger's next year. One thing I'm learning yet with the monos(only 2nd year using) is that they aren't forgiving with bad shot placements as their sole purpose is to lessen the meat waste, hold together with pass throughs and very uniformly made if going with lathe turned monos.

They're also pretty easy to do load development for.

The Cayuga perform down to 1700 as advertised. The awesome thing about the cayuags, is the drive band interrupted bearing surface. They create less psi and can be pushed HARD. In my nephews 20" creed I was using varget and getting half moa accuracy at 3k fps. In my 65prc, 3320fps w/ rl23, and in the saum 3450 w/ rl26.

Be sure to get a 7 twist so you can shoot the heavier monos. I am not a fan of the hard alloy monos such as Barnes, Badlands, PVA, and prefer the softer alloys that Cutting Edge and Hammer use as it generally yields more speed and the petals come off and do more damage. This is a ladder at 500 yards with a CEB 140 Lazer G1 .600 expands down to 1,300 fps and H1000 topped out at ~2,900 fps(you can see the different
sharpie colors on the bullet holes), I got more speed with Retumbo ~2,960 but have not shot the final two test loads for my 7 twist 6.5x284 24'' barrel. The Lazers shoot best at the lands then 2nd best at 0.025 off per Cutting Edge. The Lazers accounted for 13 of the top 15 spots in the last King of 2 Miles, maybe they sponsor everyone or give out a lot of free bullets, who knows.
