What has been your on results with the Partition? Heck I used to hand load and hunt with the great old Core Lokt and could buy them by the 500/1000 box. Its one of my top picks even today and only started away from it when I started drinking the high BC grape Kool Aid.

You'll be happy with the eld-x. While I used the eld-m line, we've also had good success with the eld-x

I used both Edlx and LRABs but in different calibers. Both work good advantage to the LRAB is it's a bonded core that will hold together. The front sheds and fragments while the core will hold together. Edlx act like ballistic tips as the lead core will often separate from jacket. LRAB are harder to tune, Edlx can be picky as well. 2 out of 5 guns I tried would shoot them accurately. I wouldn't hesitate to hunt with either as they both have performed perfectly on game for me

Man I can't get in this I used to shoot the eld m on game and thought they were ok. After recovering a lot of them and shooting a lot of game I decided to make the switch to hammers. This experience is out of a 6.5 creed. Bullet worked ok and it was accurate but when getting into some of the bigger game it just wasn't what I wanted in a hunting bullet. Seen worse but better bullets are out especially for his ranges.

I would try the hammers, I always refer to them as a portion with better accuracy and higher bc. Seems to be a great bullet in everything I've used and I've tried the gambit of bullets. Nosler, eld x, eldm, cutting edge and then ended on hammers and have been very happy.

Hey man different strokes for different folks. Ive used the 140 out of the 6.5 creed pretty extensively and have had fantastic results. In matter of fact, my wife just dumpstered a whitetail at 308 yards the other day with that load and he didn't even make it 20 yards. After using traditional hunting bullets for years I switched to the what was then the old A-max then got into the eld-m and haven't looked back. I thought about trying hammers, but at over $1 dollar a piece I just can't do it when I can do the same thing for 35-40cents a piece and not have to change my loads from my long range practice and hunting loads. I've heard lots of great things about them, they're just not my thing. If people want to do that then go for it. Again, this is my experience on whitetails and black bear sized critters. No experience on elk or like sized critters.

I would get rid of every bullet that I own and switch to the Federal Terminal Ascent if I could. Unfortunately they arnt making any of them right now.
I had used the 7mm TLR on an elk at 600 yards and it performed the best out of any bullet I have ever used. Mushroomed perfectly, penetrated perfectly and the elk died. It's also a bonded bullet so the lead doesn't spray everywhere.
I wish that they would start making them again. The Terminal Ascent is the improved TLR which needed improvement in consistency.
I'd use an Accubond or a hammer bullet with your intentions now know.

I hear you on the loads. I can say they would probably be my backup Load and I used the 147gr a lot. I never had a problem on deer with them. It was when I got into hogs and African game thicker skinned stuff.
Hammers are more money but we are in an expensive sport. Not saying it's always the Bullets fault but after having bullet failure in the past I've never wanted to take a risk. Same with Berger. If you draw blood on most hunts it's your ls so imagine a killer not working either pencil through or come apart to early on say a sable bull or some very expensive 5k plus animals. That extra $1 a bullet would seem like a good deal.

Same reason I know I can shoot them at 1k plus but if I can I'm getting closer.
There are some Federal Terminal Ascent bullets on GB right now, but approaching $1/bullet.
Got to agree with snox801 order some hammer bullets to fit your twist rate and never look back, just call Steve at hammer bullets he will steer you in the right direction on bullet selection and most likely recommend a powder they are having good luck with
