Let see those deer rifles

Not exactly my deer rifle, but it's what I used opening day due to not having my deer rifle tuned up. It weighs 24 lbs so it's a stationary rig… lol

Well I decided to take my comp rifle hunting this morning because why not? Removed the bipod to streamline it, then wrapped the front in coban to dampen any metal clanging noise I might make. Only walked a few hundred yards behind the house so lugging it wasn't bad. At least until I shot the doe. Then it was a chore.

Short range hunter. 308 Win AR10. 20 inch barrel was harvested from a long take off 10T Krieger FTR tube. Ammo, meplatted M118 LR. Precision half minute at 200 yards.

Since field firing positions will be over overgrown shrubs, and grass, have to zero the rifle off a tripod, either in sitting or standing.

After range session, I had to machine new handles to replace the plastic ones for the tripod head.

One of my favorite rounds. Nice stick!!!!!
Thx it was my benchrest competition rifle at one time. But I'm not doing that anymore so took jewel trigger out an put a elite timney in, changed stocks, an had new barrel installed. First 7mm08 I ever had an only because some old man said I'd love it. That old man gone now but the rifle I still have and think of him every time I look at it. With the thought in my head saying **** that old man was right an knew his ****. Wish he was still here today
