What's up ya'll. Very conservative Oregonian currently deployed with the US Army to Europe. Thinking about moving to Tennessee when I get back early next year. Rest of the family has already relocated to Franklin and Springfield, TN.

Anyway, I'm a long range shooter and hunter. What's up in Tennessee?

If you like long range shooting check out www.strategicedge.us that is a range in Chapel Hill where I am currently a member just one of many things to do in Tennessee

The options are there for long range shooting in middle TN. Just not as many as I would hope. Hunting is a way of life in TN for many of us. Sitting in tree stand as I write this. Trying out Cheatham WMA. Who knows, back straps may be on the menu this evening.
Welcome to Tennessee!!

Yes sir that was a statement not a question .I happen to live right in the middle of the two best ranges in Tennessee Strategic Edge to the east K&M shooting center to the west
I realized that after I posted it...haha. I'll have to look into Strategic Edge, it's a little shorter drive, but not much. Several of us was down there in Oct. for the GAP Grind. Didn't really get to enjoy the range as it poured the rain on us pretty much all weekend.

We have a range here at home, but it's nothing like the two mentioned above. It's not really a range, just an old surface mine area that we are able to use. Can shoot out to 1500 yds on the property the guy leased for people to shoot on. However, if a person got permission, he could shoot a couple miles if he they wanted to. There is no membership to pay or anything like that, so anyone can go up and shoot. Just like for people to not leave a mess, which isn't always the case. Steel is normally always up at 400, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1100, 1250, at 1500. They ask that no one shoots anything bigger than a 30 cal. But if they wanna bring their own steel to set up, they can shoot whatever they wish.

I am also a Member at Strategic Edge. There are two rifle range sides. One is from 100, 200, 300 and 500 yards. The long range has 100, 200, 300, 600, 750, 1000, and 1250. Steel targets are at most distances in all sizes. Lots of pistol and carbine bays too. Great Range! Tony is always making improvements. There are also training classes available from pistol to long range rifle to reloading. They do also hold matches there so it has about all you want. I am new here to this forum as I am trying to get into hunting more.
