Viruses travel between the animals kingdoms. It's one of the reasons why they constantly mutate. It's also why we never have a cure. The only virus that we were able to eradicate was small pox because it was limited to humans.
DPM25-06 said it was a comedy in post number 66. I thought Contagion was a SI-Fi flick.

Another hint - The quote was from a comedian who had in his earlier life been an ordained Minister , and he spoke that line to another comedian who is remembered by this Lead-In when he performed :
"I don't get NO RESPECT" which was the bi-line for this Comedian , when he appeared on the Johnny Carson Show , numerous times .
Small pox was the only virus that they isolated and therefore could actually study at length to concoct a vaccine. None of the other viruses have been successfully isolated , INCLUDING COVID19, and therefore the vaccines for these other viruses are guesses at best and if the truth is known, are cash cows, not cures .
If you trust ANYONE in the vaccine industry to have YOUR best interest at heart , my cousin has some beautiful ocean front property in Kansas he will sell you today for cheap !
