I just finished building a new rifle chambered in 30 Nosler with .200" freebore. Deviant action, and proof carbon barrel with 1:9" twist. I have loaded and shot ladders with N570, H1000, and Retumbo using Berger 215s and I just can find a great load. The best node I hit was 86.5 gr of Retumbo, -.020" off the lands with no pressure signs. However, it's still not good enough. I was thinking maybe I need to jump up to the 230gr OTM bullet with the 1:9" twist. The velocities of the 215s are about 3,090 FPS and that's too fast with the faster twist?

I wouldn't write off the 215 necessarily. Guess it depends on how many components you have also. I'm shooting 208 Amaxs right now in mine but about to start load development for the 215s

Man, I cant believe H1000, CCI250'S and 215 won't shoot. You may try the 210's or 220's if you can get your hands on some.

I shoot 1-8 twist with 215s and have never had an issue, never heard of anyone losing a 215 and people push them pretty hard in 300 NI or a 300 LAI.

My 30 Nosler has a Bartlein 10" twist and it never shot the 215 Berger very well.. It does shoot the 181 Hammers into very small groups at 400yds. I'd try another bullet if reasonable attempts to get the 215 to shoot fail.

I'm shooting a 10 twist 30 nosler and I've shot 200 accubonds, fed trl's, 215s and 230s to 1-1.5 inches at 300 yards.

I've ran nothing but 215m primers and H1k in it.

I'm currently running the 230s at 2980 and 2 inch avg at 600 yards. Couldn't be happier.

My 8 twist RUM (not a Noz) likes a crazy jump with the 215. Like 3.745" don't even know where the lands are kind of jump. Very slow at 2998 FPS.

FWIW, the 245s shoot exactly the same. Like why did I do the Wyatt's work kind of jump...

Shoots bugholes though.

That's interesting. Thanks for sharing

My 30N didn't like the 215's but loves the 205's. I am not pushing them super hard…just over 3k, like 3020, but it tore an elk up at 100 yards. Went thru the shoulder and this is the entrance to the bread basket. Bullet was in the offside hide and weighed ~36 grains.
