What suppressor trust is the best? I have a suppressor waiting at my dealer. I need to get a trust set up before doing paperwork. Not sure if one is better than another?

Also, do you not list trustees until after tax stamp is approved and add them later or are you all adding them immediately?

Please help and clarify what I should do.

Thanks
Steve

I have all our SBR's and suppressors set up on our "Trusts".
That way anyone named on the TRUST can be in possession of the item.
If you register it in your name-you are the only one that can handle it!

But if I list only myself as co-trustee to submit tax stamp. Would the approval not be faster and then add co-trustees after I have possession of the suppressor make the most sense?

You you listed all trustees with finger prints and back ground checks and still fell within normal approval times?

What trust did you use?

That's not 100% true.

If you are the only name, You must be present. I can let anyone handle and shoot my can. I just have too be there.

OK let's split hairs on this!
Ge Wiz!! I should have said "In their presence " I am almost at the point not to post anything because there will always some wanting to put their One Cents in the thread. I see this all too often when someone is trying to make an informative post and then there is the one to challenge the information just to make their point.
I then click the "Ignore" button, for the post and don't get a chance to see what other's have to offer.

The one through silencer shop. Wife daughter and my dad are listed on trust. This was all before the 41p (I think that's the alphanumeric) ruling came out though so that could have changed something I'm not aware I suppose.

I did all my trusts before you had to fingerprint and background check for trusts--- I haven't followed the "updates" to the laws but I know there was talk that atf was going to re-word so people couldn't "skirt" the laws by not listing trustees until after the fact. I thought they were gonna change the wording to say if you changed your trusts later you had to fp and bgc when you changed. --- I honestly don't know if it was changed again or not. That would probably be a good thing to ask an "nfa attorney"

I ended up using a local attorney to write mine, atf doesn't really care what the trust says and don't really care if it's actually legal in your state, they just care about the names on it. Revocable trusts ( if written correctly) can be changed at any time anyway.
Some of those $100/fast trusts may not be fully legal in your state IF they were to ever be challenged in court by certain family members or beneficiaries.

What's wrong with posting some missing information? what's wrong with adding the rest so we all have the correct information?

If it's going to bother you when someone adds relevant information to a thread, then you are in the wrong place.

I for one appreciate the knowledge you share here, but don't see anything wrong when someone adds information that is helpful. And don't bother me if what I shared is not entirely accurate and I get called out on it. I learn from it.

That's how we all learn. Just my $.02
