CA Ridgeline vs Tikka T3x

Have had great accuracy out of 4 different calibers of Tikka T3X including 300 Win Mag. All have very smooth actions and not any issues at all. Do agree the 300 is rough on the shoulder. Have had 3 CAs, including a Ridgeline, all have given me problems feeding, can't stretch out the seating depth at all. Also had issues with the bolt hanging up on the Ridgeline. i much prefer the Tikkas.
I have a CA Ridgeline in .280 Ackley that is hard to develop a load but am making progress. I have a Tikka T3X in .243 Winchester that shoots very well. I also have a Browning X-Bolt in 7mm-08 that shoots very well. My bolt is hanging up in my Ridgeline and has a very tight chamber which leads me to load Bullets that like a jump. Steve from Hammer has helped me and confirms Christensen can be hit or miss. MOA not a problem, but expect more out of that rifle's price line. There are more than a few fellow shooters on this site that are happy with their CA's.

My Tikka T3X is in .300wsm and recoil was violent. once i had a brake installed on it, I was able to work up a load using 180g partitions (.710 group). If you don't want to use the brake, get a cap made up for it and hunt without it. Mine shoots the same point of impact with or without the brake. The brake makes bench time fun again.

I really like my Ridgeline 6.5 PRC, 2019 model. Shoots the 143's into .75" as advertised. I had no issue handloading any bullet I tried, and shot several groups in the 3's. I loaded .03" off mag length as this is a hunting gun. I just ordered some Hammer bullets, and can't wait to try them. They shoot well at any col! One hole groups with a 85 gr in my 6.5 Creed at 3500 fps! Good luck!

I bought a new Tikka T3x in 300 WM last year before an elk trip. Very disappointed. I have terrific glass on the rifle and even from a bench vise, I cant get anywhere near Sub MOA. I am a precision reloader and had no idea the Tikka's were so magazine limited in terms of COAL/CBTO. After alot of measurements, I am working with more than .2" jump with loads that are max length for the magazine. Thats a big number! I swapped out the bottom metal with Red Snake Tactical (great product and Red is a great American) but that still only got me slightly longer rounds and then I had to deal with Tikka feed issues. I see so many folks singing Tikka praises and can only assume they dont reload because you cant get anything in them greater than 3.35". I am looking at a Christensen Arms Ridgeline. Seems to have everything I want in terms of weight, stock quality, trigger pull, and range of loading options. Anyone out there make a transition from Tikka to CA and if so, are you happy?
I KNOW EXACTLY what you are going through Brasshole. I purchased the Tikka T3X superlite in .300 win myself and was lucky to get it to shoot 2" at 100 yrds. Very unhappy with the mag length as well, but I really wanted this light weight rifle. I even sent it back to them. They told me to use a certain ammunition and it would be fine. WHERE AM I GOING TO FIND THIS AMMO these days?

The solution to your problems! No need to use a brake!

I have the Christensen arms traverse in a 300 WinMag and I load 190 Barnes LRX
OAL 3.485"
Shell 2.6085"
75.9 H1000 One whole gun I'm bringing it elk cotton tomorrow. Also shoot the 200 ELDX I think it sits out a little further I just don't have my notebook with me. it fits in the magazine with minimal jump and it is also a tack driver

I have (3) CA rifles and all shoot fantastic from the factory. I have a ridgeline in 6.5 PRC and have had no issues with Accuracy or reloading for it. I am loading hammer bullets though in the PRC and they are not very sensitive to seating depth.
The
MPR rifles are also amazing.

I've had issues with a tikka t3x 6.5 creedmore have shot all kind of factory ammo from the cheapest to the most expensive match ammo closest to 1 moa was the old hornady with the 140 amax

I've never owned a Tikka, but from what I've heard about them, they don't sound like a good option for hand loading the long action calibers, but great for the short mags or standard short calibers.
I own a Sako and a Tikka. Both are tack drivers. The big issue with Tikka's is limited mag length which really hampers the 300 WM and 7 Rem Mag, especially if you reload. A muzzle brake and a better stock will also help make it better.
Action screws need to be torqued to exactly 35 lbs…….this holds true in the factory stock only. Also, shoots using sand bags and don't use a bipod. Front loading of the bipod creates forend rib pressures and causes recoil issues. Again, this is with the factory stock.

I had a tikka t3 in 300wm. Only one I've had. I loved the weight, the smoothness of the action but the recoil was absurd.
OK , so just the T3X . I have 3 Tikka rifles , T3 Tac in 300 Win mag , T3 Tac in 308 and Varminter in 7mm Mag . Both the Tac rifles have muzzle brakes on them , the Varminter does not . The rifle is extremely accurate but the recoil , for me is too much . Its being sold and someone else is picking it up . As for the T3 Tacs , these rifles are shooters . I need rifles with brakes as i shoot a fair amount , even my hunting rifles , Browning Medallions in 300 Win Mag and 270 WSM wear brakes .

I know 4 hunters/shooters with the CA Traverse and they are very satisfied with their rifles.

My Tikka 6.5 Veil shoots lights out with handload Hammers (124g). Consistently 0.5 MOA. I've also had success with several Bergers (140, 156). The Veil has a fluted barrel, so may be different with other TX3s.

I bought my T3X 300 WM last spring just after they changed the twist rate from 1:11 to 1:10. It shot 1" groups right out of the box as advertised. I asked Steve Davis @ Hammer what bullet he would recommend d and he suggested the 174 Hammer Hunter loaded out to mag length (3.370") which is .200 off the lands as you mentioned. Using 76 gr. of H4831sc I
was able to punch .75" groups at 3050 FPS. It came with a by
brake and produces, ess recoil than my Rem 700 in 300 and my Mauser Bauer 3000 in .308 Win. I plan to use it for WY elk in 2022.

Not all Tikkas in the same calibre have the same magazine length.

I have two 6.5 Creedmoors and the both have different magazine lengths, which surprised me.
1 is a Tikka T3x 6.5 Creedmoor Super Varmint and the other Tikka T3x 6.5 Creedmoor Lite. The Super Varmint has the largest mag length/ chamber.
I had mistakenly through they would handle the same reloaded cartridge but this was not the case.
