Let’s see those Smokeless builds!!

NO, The load data is not the same as a bolt gun. I will be using sabotless 275 gr. Arrowhead bullets with 60- 62 ish grains of Hodgdon H4198... You have to keep the pressures down on the break opens, the barrel dia. at the breech is only 1" compared to most remmy bolt guns, 1.250" dia. The lower charge is still pushing that bullet @ approx. 2500 - 2600 fps.
Running the same bullets on my Savage prefit, with 60gr I'm getting 2420 fps out of a 20" barrel with a SilencerCo Hybrid on it.

So, I said I'd update this thread with some target pics and after putting a Trijicon Credo HX 2.5-15x42 on my rifle I went outside an hour ago and shot this FANTASTIC 3-shot group at 174 yards. Shots 1&2 went into the same hole (lower left) and I got excited and just slightly pulled shot 3 (upper right). Group still measures .825". Gonna call this rifle/load development 'Finished'. These things are just TOO COOL! 👍👍😁😁

If I was going to do a smokeless, this is what I would purchase. A Hankins converted CVA 45-70.

Wow! That is awesome! No need to do anymore other than to go hunting!

Please lock this thread or I'll be tempted to get an Arrowhead smokeless 45. Maybe a Christmas gift . :) too much good going on here and Encore don't make it any easier. Plus i have a late season iowa mzl hunt in January of 2023. This is killing me. Ugg

Just sell your current muzzleloader and use it to fund the new one, trust me the benefits of smokeless and the money you save sighting in will make you forget the price difference. I used to play the "where will my muzzleloader hit this time" game every year and despite sitting in a safe untouched for a year would never hit where it was supposed to and take 5 to 10+ shots to get roughly zeroed back in.

This year I zeroed my smokeless in three rounds and it only took that many because I had the barrel cut down, swapped it with the barrel on my deer rifle, put a new scope on it and was shooting a new bullet with a new load. So I did all of that and it still took 1/3 of the number of shots that my brother took to rezero his previously zeroed muzzleloader and his is minute of deer zero while mine is center punch the bullseye.

Trust me, if you have a muzzleloader season in your state that allows it then that will be the best money you can spend on it.

Can you put a suppressor on these rigs?
Thought I saw one, I'll have a go through the entire thread again.
Yes, I run a SilencerCo Hybrid on mine, it brings the sound down so that your ears don't ring with a shot or two but it isn't nearly as quiet as I'm used to with my other cans and I still wear hearing protection on the range. With the anchor break though it definitely helps with the recoil.
