Got to stretch the 33 nosler out today with the 260 HH R-16 70.5gr. Average velocity 2,788 fps
Temp 59* elevation 1,400 ft wind off and on, mostly on. Used .325 G7 from Hammer website
300 yards chart had 3.93 Moa actual was 3.5
600 yards chart had 12.46 actual was 12.0
1,000 yards chart had 27.71 actual was 30.0
By actual I mean Minute of blue rock.
@ 600 I was dancing around 4" blue rocks and 4" square gongs. When I did my part I could hit. I was shooting off bench, death grip on tripod, and had a sleeping bag in stuff sack to simulate shooting from backpack from prone.
@ 1,000 I shot at 4" blue rock on back birm using 27.75 moa, hit low, ran cross hairs to impact, sent another DEAD BLUE ROCK!!!! Ended up needing 30.0 moa. I didn't shoot many at 1,000.
These two bullets were recovered out of the 600 yard birm. Should have been 2,034 fps 2,417 ftlbs at impact
I was more than happy, I was told shooting distance for elk and mule deer hunt this fall is 300 yards and in.
Loading fresh brass, and then time to pick up the bow here soon in PA to help pass the time until we leave for second season rifle in Colorado

Got back out today to try some 3 shot groups at 100. Loaded 78.0 - 79.5 grains N565 in .3 grain increments. First fouler high right and made adjustment for second fouler.
1) 78.0 grains 3007, 2953, 2940 fps .370" group (Terrible velocity spread. The highest shot is the 3007 fps)
2) 78.3 2977, 2981, 2982 .400"
3) 78.6 2988, 2986, 2985 .290"
4) 78.9 2992, 3012 .352" (Forgot to arm LabRadar on first shot)
5) 79.2 3008, 3011, 3033 .920" (The shot off in outer space was 3033 fps. Sticky bolt.)
6) 79.5 3052, 3041, 3020 .144" (Heavy bolt lift)
78.3 and 78.6 seem to be the only ones without some really screwy velocity swings. Wish I knew the answer to that one. Brass has been fired multiple times and trimmed to same length. No crimp. Neck tension .002. Gun was cleaned before this outing. Might have had too many beers last night.......

78.6 is what I was thinking. I'll load some more and try try at distance. I sure hope velocity stays consistent.......
Finally got to try some Hammer's in my .280 Ackley, very impressed so far. Did a 10 shot pressure/velocity test. Even spanning 4.5 grains it was about a 1.25 inch group, from a bog pod which is steady, but not bench steady. No doubt they will be accurate upon completion.

These loads are what I feel are safe in MY RIFLE. Use standard safe reloading practices to work up load in your rifle.
I guess I thought I posted up the .270TH data for the 156HH but seems like it was just velocity. The 4000R ladder needs more loads but not sure I will do so since did not see the velocity that RL26 delivers. The 170 EOL ladder there as "bonus" to posting.
The oddball COAL is just my desire to max out COAL for magazine. Since Hammers have shown me jump is basically irrelevant in "my experience", I chose this COAL. Since rifle shoots 0.4MOA with this load, guess it works.
Which is why you Have to work up loads for your own rifle.

LOL, I could feel the frustration reading the 22-250 groups.. I was there earlier this year with my 6.5 Creed and Berger 140 EH, same type of groups, but my ES and SD was nowhere close to what you are seeing, hang in there you will find it. My Creed with the HH has been from .474 to .690 in both the 124 and 110. I am still trying different powders I have to see if anything will tighten up or provide better velocity. If you have other powders definitely give those a try as I am sure you are aware, something else I had always heard from Erik Cortina, the ES and SD is all to do with combustion and to check powder and primer. I used to have ES/SD all over the place until I quit using my old RCBS Chargmaster as the only source for weight verification. When I incorporated my old balance beam scale with the Chargmaster, I noticed the Chargmaster was throwing half grain off either way, when I started using the balance beam and a trickler to bring up to correct charge, that is when my ES/SD came down. I also use expander mandrels to set my neck tension, this provided better groups.
What was the case fill like on the 22-250?

I am wondering if you all may be able to help me with the 88gr hammer hunter in a 6 creed. I must be doing something wrongm I am not able to get this bullet to shoot.
Hornady brass, F210 primer H4350 powder.
If I am at 43.3 gr and above there is noticeable bolt lift. No ejector marks or pressure signs on the primer. The group sizes for 43.6-43 are in the neighborhood of 1.5-2" at 100 yards. If I am in the 42.5-41.9 range I am getting around .7", 3 shot groups.
the COL for this is 2.738". The base to ojive distance is equal to what I am using with the Berger 105gr VLD Hunter. With the Berger I am able to shoot sub .4" groups repeatedly. For the Berger I am at 41.9gr.
