Wondering what you guys would use for Whitetail. Shots would be probably max 75 yards. 14" barrel. Looking for recommendations in factory ammunition for 300 blackout. Don't have the dies for hand loading yet .

My vote: Barnes vortex 110 TAC-TX. Hard to find right now but can be had if you search for it.

Yup-- go to factory ammo for 300bo hunting is the barnes tac-tx 110gr black tip ammo
Yes AR pistol platform. Use for sneaking around the cedar swamp. As I said 75 yards would be a long shot. Still the Barnes 110 ?

Absolutely. I was just curious. I ran the 110 TAC TX in the tight woods around my house in Oklahoma. Bad news on deer, pigs and yotes.
I would also say with ammo shortages that you could get a set of dies and roll your own much cheaper. At that range I would also consider the 150gn speer gold dots. Loading the 300bo is mindlessly easy.
Thanks for the information guys. My wife shot one with hers at about 40 yards. Deer ran about 50 yards. But there was no blood trail and no exit. When we gutted it the heart was destroyed. But if there had been no snow I don't know if we would have found it. Have to look and see what she was shooting. But was not happy with it.

I don't think I pushed it past 19.3, maybe I should have gone higher but accuracy was exceptional out of my 8.5 barrel. Maybe I will give it another whirl and see if I can speed it up a bit. Thanks for the comparison data.

i shoot a remington 7 aac bolt rifle and use lit-gun with 125 gr nosler bt,s at 2400 fps, i have killed several whitetails with good results at close to 100 yards.
I wonder if the problem is the shots are typically very close. And the bullet zips right through. That's why I asked for recommendations for what factory ammunition people think would work at close range.
I doubt you will have that issue with the 110 TAC-TX. I haven't had that issue.
