Recoil & Bullet Weight

This is the second discussion is as many days I have been following that turned personal. I just don't get it

@jdavist, yes the E=1/2 MV**2 is correct. I suggest you look into page 2 of SAAMI provided by @Hugnot You will see that 10% reduction of projectile at same velocity does not mean 10% reduction of rifle recoil
Just be civil and have fun
That's good. Let's just stick to facts. In @Hugnot analysis, it's about 4%. which you won't feel. He did a very good analysis. I like to stick to facts, not hyperbole.

I like a good opponent. It makes both better!
Opponents? It shows in your attitude man. I'm not out to chew on anyone, but there's something that comes through your postings that is unhelpful to your cause. Just think about it bud. No need to dial up the testosterone. We can all learn how to communicate more effectively with a little less of ourselves and more esteem for others. When we are full of ourselves, we actually diminish ourselves. Life's too short to be at each other's throats. Guys like ButterBean have earned their britches on this sight. They can say things you can't cause everybody knows the heart behind the words. And they are good hearts that have helped so many of us.

No attitude. Bring data.

"In God we trust, all others must bring data." - Attributed to W. Edwards Deming, father of Total Quality Management and Continual Improvement.
The problem arises when people read a headline and not the entire thesis, or see an equation and then take it out of context, or try to apply superposition to it, when they should not.
I stambled on this site a few yers ago when I had a new caliber to me and wanted some education from users.
I have learned alot from this site, there are a lot of great people here, people you can just call if you need help, for FREE! In a rare occasion I am able to provide some of my esperiences, though limited as it might be.
One of the great tools Len provided is the ability to "unwatch" a thread when it gets sidetracked...yes, I am doing it right now.
So, remember, we are all here because of our passion. We don't have all the answers. I swear I learn something new every day here.
And with that, I will click on the unwatch!

Be civil, shoot well, and have fun

I have no attitude. "Just the facts ma'am." Joe Friday.
As a pastor it is my goal to model the One who sacrificed so much of Himself for the good of others. Our choice of language and response says more about us than we realize. Let's be men that can bring sunshine wherever we go. The Good Book tells us that good deeds out of a wicked heart do little to benefit the doer of them. There are broad parallels to this principle. Let's elevate things as we go, brothers. No single one of us is the axle the world spins around.

Math on earth, experiential data, and faith are completely different things. When I meet God, we'll have that discussion.

Amen Pastor and thank you for reminding me of what I should be doing, I'll take the high road
