Hi, I know that the topic has already been dealt with, but having to use google translator I find it difficult to find it to check if I remember correctly what I have read. I am sorting the water capacity on standard .300 WM cases after the first shot with exploded primer and before passing them on the diee and I wanted to know: first if it is too early to carry out this operation and second what tolerances to accept, 0.5 grains between the minimum and maximum may be fine or I must narrow the field. Last thing, is there a system to avoid remaining air bubbles that can offset the measurement? I thank in advance who can give me an answer. I apologize even if the translator does not do his duty well.

To get rid of bubbles, use dishwasher soap in the water. NOT regular soap, but the one used in dishwashing machines.

Easy for you to say.

To get accurate volume, you need to fire a case 3 times with only neck sizing the case.
This will get you an accurate water weight.

Cheers.
Ok Thanks, but what tolerance can I accept 0.5 -1 -1.5 grains between minimum and maximum as internal volume.

A 2 grain average spread is large to me.
I try for 1/2 to 1 grain average spread as max.
I actually measure volume using CC's, haven't used the water weight measurement for quite some time.

Cheers.

I use a Burette graduated in tenths of CC's.
It's for measuring combustion chambers in model engines, intake runners etc.

Cheers.

You are better off measuring water volume with a good scale. Water has a nasty habit of forming a meniscus and making it hard to measure with a burette. Add a little soap as noted above, to kill surface tension. Or use grain alcohol and correct for the specific density.

If the OP would attempt to explain in English what he is trying to achieve, we might do better. As much as I love other languages, (and I speak German fluently) sometimes, reading the post in broken English is better than any translator.
