Ramshot LRT Powder?

Veteran ran some QL and it's basically as slow as US869. The fact that it's not listed in Ramshot's data for 300 WM and that every Magnum load except the 240gn Sierra is compressed makes me think it's not ideal for that case. Hodgdon does have load data on US 869 for 220 and 230 gn bullets, compressed but maybe a hint at LRT being functional. Not going to be setting any speed records compared to extruded powders.

There's a pretty good extensive thread Elkoholic started on LRT recently.

Here are some burn rates to look at.
Other guys seem to have some actual experience w it in that thread.

I like the spherical aspect of it and thinking of the 300 WM heavyweights
I pressure tested LRT in my 30 Sherman Mag with the 215 bergers. LRT, N570, and rl26 all produced near identical velocities. Also did a vague test with LRT that revealed it is pretty temperature sensitive.

Good stuff, I will keep on back burner UNLESS I can't get H1000 or RL26. I have enough RL26 for my .270 with 156HH which is my primary need right now. LRT just looks interesting to me.

I have been using it in mt .300wm in the Bergara LRT 87.5 gr. 215 M Match Federal primer and Hornay's 220 gr. ELD X,2950 to 2995 25 ' from the muzzle, lee neck die 1/2 groups at 100 ,but bangs ya ,put Bergara's self timing break on and much more soft and still 1/2 " groups, primers are round 1 hand bolt lift. hardhead

I used 26 in my .300,not quite the same results as LRT ,and you can not find it around here,LRT came available ,tried it,have about 10#'s when its gone the gilt edge Accuracy will be gone, maybe sooner then time to move on,hardhead
