Real Hunters?

With that statement I like to define a true hunter but also no disrespect to the one's that fall out of this category.
A hunter in my opinion is a person that kills to have hunted.
Hunting means one knows everything about his quarry.
Knows its habits, paterns,where it lives and travels.
The hunter than plans and sets up a rendezvous and than hopefully if he is a competent marksman finishes the hunt.

So again no disrespect for people with a limited time frame,disabilities,traveling to far of locations etc.
These people must rely on outfiters and guides to do to a great extent the hunting for them and they become the shooters.

People hunting the fringes of parks,roadhunters ( with the exception of antelope ) game reserves and sanctuaries also don't qualify.
And neither do drones, heat seekers, fish finders. lol

So how many of us are really a full fledged hunters?

Well, I read this an the question is provided with potential answers by the author that reference hunter on the "fringes". I have known many good hunters and of course others. Some are skilled and others not so. I like to think I respect wildlife more now than ever. When I was 18-20 perhaps not. Do you own your own land with a place to hunt? or Do you depend on public lands as a place to go to hunt? Is it about using your personal integrity and compliance with the law ?Sometimes I'm happy just be in the routine of hunting. I wake up at 3 am on the farm and put the coffee on. Glad to be here.
 
To me a real hunter is one that knows his Animal find a track decide if it's worth following if it's a big track in your mind you decide this is a trophy and track it down get with in good shooting distance and see it before it sees you determine if it's a shooter then make one well placed shot my most memorable sneak was on a nice 6 point elk I finally shot him at 17 steps I tried to see how close I could get he was bedded I waited until he stood shot once he collapsed and it was done but most don't work out this well but that doesn't mean other ways are wrong what ever works for everyone is different the animals around here are hard to pattern cuz they always do things differently some of our deer can be patterned but elk hole other story my 2 cents

I am in the foothills ,hunt public land,border a national park ,surrounded by sanctuaries close the a 50 year old coal mine.
All these places have a abundance of wild life but cannot be hunted, example the mine has a estimated Big Horn sheep herd of 340 head,big herd of Elk ,deer,bears that all live on reclaimed areas.
Hunting pressure moved the game to these sanctuaries and in the dark timber where one has to hunt as opposed to hanging around the boundaries and wait for a animal to step out.
Knowing this I wondered and asked I tought was a simple question. 😳😳

Martin, it was all in the wording. If you question anyone's lifestyle, hobby or pastime (whatever you want to call it) it will ruffle feathers. I can see you were not meaning to offend, but that's how I first read it.
