The CZ455 is easily capable of shooting out to 200 yards/meters with the correct mount, scope, and ammunition. You don't really need all that much to reach out there. Get your dope figured out and have at it.

Got out with my old school CZ452 Varminter today. Took it to 226 yards shooting plain old Aguila SV.

either will work. If CZ is on the menu, why not get the latest, the 457? All the recent aftermarket support for CZ will be for that model. Some stuff works for both the 455 and 457 but some doesn't. I like bot CZ and Tikka. and older Remingtons and Winchesters, and ... They all work but the new guns are easier to set up for PRS style and long range shooting.

both will work well!! I do favor the tikka though, and for no reason what so ever. My buddies cz shoots so well it's incredible. Both are great guns but if I were to do one, I'd be building on a tikka

Who out there shoots long range with 22 Lr? And what Is your rifle/ ammo setup?

I've just got into it and so far enjoy it. I'm using a tikka t1x with a sig sauer tango 6 2-12 sitting on top of a dip 25moa base. Was able to get out to 385 yards with out holding over and could easily hit a 7x10 gong with good subsonic match ammo, could even get 3 rounds in the air before the first one hit. And with decent bulk box stuff could get 6 out of 10 on target.

Recently I've added Burris XTR signature rings and was able to get all the elevation adjustment out of my scope, I should be able to get close to 600 yards without holding over with subsonic match ammo, but I have not had a chance to go test it out.

Glad to see more and more people learning about and enjoying LR 22 shooting. We've been doing this since the 70's, and in my earlier years, we used target 22's at reduced ranges, 3-400yds with scaled targets, to practice for Palma and 1,000 prone shooting. It was cheap, fun and very effective practice for reading winds, changing light, trigger time, follow through, etc.

I still have my old Rem 513T used in those days, and it still shoots ragged little holes at 50yds and small groups at 100. Through the years, I've used varied target 22's wearing 4-12x, 6-18x, 6-24x scopes at LR, modified bolt sporters like 581's, 77/22, 541's, etc, and even have a self-customized 10/22 with heavy 20" target barrel that does very well at LR.

Some of the most memorable shooting days I have revolve around a couple of good friends and I lying prone or sitting and sniping at distant clays, gongs, 22 or field pistol silhouettes and varied reactive targets(glass items in an open country dump). It seems we always had to keep extending the ranges for the shoot-off to determine the day's winner.
