7mm sherman max

If you're burning N570, don't expect the barrel to last the longest. I'm burning retumbo in mine. It's way cleaner and doesn't eat barrels. My 1st Max barrel had noticeable cracking a and erosion after 250 rounds.
ill give up a few FPS for a cleaner and cooler bore.
Right on! I've tried N570 and it's very hard on barrels due to extreme burn temperatures. I found out the hard way, but luckily had several other barrels chambered and ready to go. I'm back to Retumbo,RL-23 and 26.

No 570 or Re26 here. I do have 7828ssc, H1000, Re23, Mag Pro and 8123 I'm hoping atleast One of them works .😂
You will get good groups with the H1000 but not the valocity that everyone wants. 8133 is so post to be really simulator to Retumbo, but don't discard the 7828 it might surprise you. I'm going to try RL 33 next as soon as I'm out of 26 witch won't be long.

its be awesome if the 7828 came through. I have like 20lbs of it 😂

Anyone running the 195's in a 1:-8.5"? My 7Max will have a 1:8.4 on it. Berger's stability calculator had it right on the line @3k . Thinkin I maybe better off running the 180's @ 3100-ish ?

Has anyone tried RL 33 in their 7 max yet? I tried it in my 6.5 max with the 156 gr Berger and it was way fast. Very accurate. Thinking about trying it in my 7 max with the 180 gr Berger VLD. Let me know if anyone else has.

My new 7Max showed up last week, built by Eric Goss at Axis Works. Very happy with the quality of the build. Went through barrel break in and started testing loads last weekend.

Barrel is a 26" Proof Sendero 1:8.44 twist

Running all of these at overall cartridge length of 3.10 in new ADG 7 Max brass from Sherman. Brass was full length sized with the Hornady bushing die and a 311 bushing. Neck tension wasn't the greatest so all rounds were lightly crimped with a Lee FCD.

Berger 195 EOL with 67.0 grains of N570 was 2845 FPS, with a slight ejector mark which surprised me.

Berger 190 LRHT started at 61.0 grains H1000 running 2677, 62.0 was 2682 and showed a faint ejector mark, 62.5 was 2742 FPS with a pronounced ejector mark.

Berger 190 LRHT with N570 ran ok at 68.0 (2907 FPS) , slight ejector at 68.5 grains (2922 FPS) but showed a heavy ejector mark and stiff bolt at 69.0 grains running 2965 FPS.

Everything grouped decent, moa or better.

I'm relatively new to reloading, eager to learn more. I'm assuming the new brass / new barrel may be causing early signs of pressure? I've got 180 VLD's on the way to test, would like to get over 3000 fps….

I was running around 3050 with my max shooting the 180 eldms and n570. I can look up my load for you when I get home in the morning if you want. It was a 26" Muller works carbon barrel.
