I am going to work up some 6.5 prc loads and need some advice. 4 of the bullets I'm working all recommended rl 26 2 of the 4 actually said it was their most accurate tested. Problem is I'm out of 26 & not wanting to pay the stupid high price for the little I've found. One company I talked too said that rl 25 would work in its place. I am too new to reloading to know about this switch. Can anyone chime in on that?

Not sure what bullet or brass you are using, but there are several good powders out there that will work very well in that rifle. If your set on RL for powder, it could be a while. Be sure to log on to the web sites like powder valley or midsouth shooters supply and sign up for the notifications. There is quite a bit of threads regarding the 6.5 PRC on this site. Might do a couple searches. Best of luck my friend

I have Hornady brass mainly but bought a box of 142 lrab in adg brass from North American ammunition & ordering some 144 Berger hybrid in lapua from another. As far as powder I have a decent amount of H1000. I've found several threads about the rl26 & h1000 but I hadn't found one mentioning the rl25. I probably overlooked it though.

I use RL25 for the 6.5 PRC I push 140s at around 3050 with 59.0 gr. H1000, N565, RL26 are all good powders for the cartridge. N565 seems to be fairly available online if you keep an eye out.

I shoot a 6.5X284 which is kind of a cousin to your PRC and it shoots lights out with RL 26, but RL 23 was a very close second. So if it's available you could give 23 a try as well. If you lived close by, I'd let you borrow some...

I haven't used it, but Hornady has data from 130gr - 150gr bullets with RL25. Data is on their app for $1 and has a slew if powders.

Other publicly available data from nosler, hodgdon, and Barnes. May not have RL25, but it may have something else you have on the bench.

I'm using H1000 and the Berger 156 running at 2925 . Very good together

H1000, n565, reloader 26, retumbo, imr 7977 the r25 would probably be ok.
All my reading pointed to h1000. All my load testing led to h1000 57.5 grains in adg brass with a 147 shot great at 3030fps for me.

Reloader 26 and 23 at my go too with standard LRP. The es and sd numbers and accuracy was never that good with LRP magnums. I wouldn't mind trying h1000 or anything else but not too worried as I have pretty of the reloader and rather not wast barrel life chasing something that may not gain me much. Have you tried H4831sc? That may work too, I got some just to try but once again perfectly satisfied with what I have as of now and with the availability of components I'd rather not screw around with experimenting.
