The PRC die "problem"

The tighter factory dies spec .529-.530" (it they hit the spec). Thats what my chamber needs. The .533 chamber is hard to deal with due to limits on how small you can make a die and the virgin case head size on ADG.

OK. Good to know. I have the reamer sitting here but the rifle is shooting so well I didn't want to screw it up. ha ha. I guess if I open it up I can see if the next node up is achievable.

Experienced clickers today for the first time. 3rd firing of ADG brass. My Peterson brass shipped yesterday so I'm curious to see how it performs.
Hate to hear that for you. I have yet to have one running Hornady, 20 on their 6th loading. Haven't opened up the ADG or Lapua just yet. Did get some Whidden dies and prepared to cut Hornady die off via EDM if needed for getting proper sizing.
Hope the Peterson works well for you.

I've got some Hornady I may just have to break out. This ADG brass just seems a little finicky. It's great stuff in my other rifles but this PRC issue is bothering me now. Going to send 3 pieces to Whidden and have a die made.

I am hearing of people ordering reamers for other cases and opening up the base. This is not a fix all for everything and can cause problems. You have to look at each case individually. In the PRC, opening the chamber is the correct thing to do, but in others like the saum for example its not. So dont just go opening up everything, thats not always the right thing to do.

Thanks for the advice. I will be doing my 6.5 PRC

Alex, what is your recommended approach to fix this issue with a SAUM? I have tried sizing dies from Redding and Wilson.

@Alex Wheeler with regards to the PRC, should a custom die be ordered after reaming? Thanks 🙏

BTW, does anyone reading this thread have a 300 PRC AW2 reamer they would be willing to sell or rent to me? I just spoke to JGS and Manson both have a 12-16 weeks wait.

To save Alex the time, there is no need for a custom die if you use his reamer print. That is the whole point of his reamer redesign.
Except he mentioned he had to work with Hornady to get the right spec or something like that. His response said the aw2 and a proper die are the key. The issue is that we don't seem to have a proper die spec out that works on the adg level brass. I have lapau to test too. Assume it'll be same as adg at the web thickness.
