Thank you for the reply….I had originally intended to use the Hawkins hybrids and build off a 700 action I have had for 25 years that was my first center fire my old man bought me.I'm thinking now I would like to save that action for my son's first rifle just for sentimental reasons. I know one of the guys that makes the impact actions and Tate is a top shelf guy and I would like to support his company. However, without them making a slick headed receiver yet I'm worried that I wouldn't be able to get something low enough to suit me.I can't speak to your exact combo, but I have two big horn origins running 30mm tubes in seeking low rings. One is in an EH1 and the other is in an EH6, I don't feel the need for an increased comb on either.
Seeking low rings are 0.82 to center
EH1 is 0.35" drop from bore to comb
EH6 is 0.40" drop from bore to comb
MCS-T is 0.38"
Unless our faces are vastly different or the impact has a different height from bore to rail than the origin, I think you'll be happy. Should have no problem with the low rings unless you are running a very large bull barrel.
