Care to share your experience with the 180 eldm? Was there something unsatisfactory about it that you're considering switching?

Killed a couple of bucks and a caribou with the Hybrid VLD hunts. They performed great. They expand violently and provide about 15" of maximum penetration. I was pushing them at 3100 FPS and shots were at 5 yards, 300 yards & 630 yards. None of the animals were on their feet very long after impact.
Worked flawlessly at 600 yards. Caught bullet under skin on the far side. Wondering at 800 to 1000 yards if it would reach the far side. 3109 fps

I've had good results with the 225 eldm at 2760 in a 300 win mag but don't shoot a 7mm of any kind (yet

A friend of mine has done some shooting with the 180 ELDMs in an 8-twist and confirmed a G7 bc of 0.385 out to 1k. He has also shot steel out to 1600 with them and got reliable hits based on that bc. If I had an 8 twist I would be switching.
T hey should penetrate more and expand less at the slower velocities of 800-1000 yards but of course, shot placement is everything.
Personally, I like the 180 vld but haven't shot an animal with the 180 eldm.
Buddy has a 28 nosler gunwerks with their 180 hvld load. Has killed everything out to 700 yards with zero problems. All dead right there including grizzly and Africa plains game.

I shoot 180 ELDMs out of my 7LRM and 180 bergers out of my 7-300. Both have worked flawlessly on elk and deer for me - the rifles just each have their own preference.
