7mm sherman max

This is my boy a year ago when he was 10 years old. He was shooting the 7 MAX with the 195 Gr Berger load. 4 shots at 1000 yards. Was a little over 1k but only by a little. Very little recoil with a terminator brake on.
That's awesome! Good to know!'. My kiddos got an Area 419 Hellfire on there right now . I may grab a sidewinder and see how that does.

Anyone running IMR8133 in their 7Max? Got a line on 8lbs of it Burn rate right here with N570 wondering if it's getting close to the same velocities with the 195's
I never tried 8133 in the max. A full case of N570 did just under 3k in my 26" barrel. It was hot, 2950 would have been workable. 8133 will likely make a bit less speed. I consider it more in line with Retumbo vs N570.

Thanks man. yeah retumbo seems to be what they're comparing the 8133 to. Wasn't sure how retumbo / 8133 stacked up to the N570. They're all right next to each other in regards to the burn rates

N570 has more energy than both of them, just slightly slower burn. It's very dense. Large kernels, but just one kernel weighs 0.08gr comparing most powders are 0.04.

What are you guys seeing for barrel life? I have a gun built just for this but went a slightly different direction at the last minute to test and I am getting ready to order a barrel for hunting but I like shooting so was going to go with carbon fiber to bridge the 2

Curious as wel. I think rich was saying 1500-is but that mileage is gonna vary

If you're burning N570, don't expect the barrel to last the longest. I'm burning retumbo in mine. It's way cleaner and doesn't eat barrels. My 1st Max barrel had noticeable cracking a and erosion after 250 rounds.
ill give up a few FPS for a cleaner and cooler bore.

good to know. What kind of velocities you getting with retumbo?
