With say a 5000ft change in altitude have you guys found your kestrel elite to be accurate or have you found you needed to tweak your Mv or bc. I have never shot at the new elevation and won't have a chance to verify data

I have a kestrel and live at around 800-1000' so pretty low. Last year I hunted in Colorado and I wanted to verify my drops were correct at higher altitude. I found a spot to shoot across a big canyon, ranged a rock about the size of a basketball just over 1k yards... smacked it 2 for 2 using kestrel supplied info. Which was vastly different than my home range 1k dope. Hope this helps

With the kestrel, there's no reason to be tweaking anything. Also it behooves you to use custom drag models when ever possible, since that is a function of the elite. It WILL be more accurate than using a bc. Period.

You still always need to verify you data. All though it has nothing to do with elevation, there have been times where DSF has needed to be calibrated out to distances beyond what anyone on here kills animals at, for the sake of accuracy.

If your MV was taken by a reliable chrono and your dope from 6-900y is good combined with a CDMs, the kestrel will literally do everything else as far as drop is concerned. With more accuracy than 99% of shooters.

always true your round and kestrel

Well isnt modern tech. just wonderfull?
To think that back in the dark ages we had to rely on things like where the last bullet landed.
And then use the scope to dial to it so we could hit the target on the second shot.
But this way seems so much better.
Do they come in a choice of color?
OK, OK, ive got every thing entered, where is it, where is it, **** didnt it wait around for me? lol

Yes, knowing your rifle and data can help you interpolate when you have to take a shot and don't have everything "just perfect "
my experience and practice with the rifle and data helps this all come together into the package and allows me to have confidence in my shot. Practice and prepare for long and take shots you are comfortable and confident in.

So remember the thread on spelling and grammar? How does a detailed oriented company allow a video out with such an spelling error? Makes me wonder just how detail oriented are they? A company's advertisement, logo, etc is the face of your company! Just like in NFL MNF program: C'mon Man!
