I just started shooting these not too long ago as well. The 160 HH was so easy and fast in the 300 Bee I got some 121HH for the 260 and 6.5 PRC. I shot my PRC ladder yesterday afternoon. Starting load of 58.0 grains of RL26 lit with a 215M primer in Hornady cases. Increments of .3 grains ran up to 61.9. Rifle is a Fierce Fury 24" with factory radial brake shooting in an overcast 64 degrees. 58.0 yielded 3,300FPS even. 61.9 generated...3,501 and the last case/primer looks exactly like the first with no change in bolt lift. Amazing. It looks like a decent node at 61.3 to 61.6 at 3485 to 3493 and still pretty even to 61.9 at 3501. I am going to run 61.5 grains and see how it groups. Pretty amped at 120 grain bullet in the neighborhood of 3500 FPS.

Now with the 196 hammer I'm loading at 81.2( I think, I'm at work right now) same powder, primer, brass, etc. I'm at 3230. Loads never showed any signs of pressure, sticky bolt, primers, no ejector marks (although I'm not sure I'd even see them on a nucleus action) and the recoil is actually quite a bit less than the Berger was.
Virtually no bloodshot meat. That's why I originally switched over. Additionally, each bullet is identical to 0.0005 - that's their standard. No bullet sorting required. Add ridicuously easy load development and 0.5 groups or better average in all my rifles. Obviously I'm completely sold

I have one rifle so far that's not shooting .5moa or smaller with hammers. .633" is my smallest group with 143 gr Hunters but let me say this, that's way better than the plus moa groups it shot with Barnes LRX and Nosler Accubonds. Hammers on average are the most accurate bullets I've shot to date.

Hotty Toddy Dakota! I have'nt tried loading any down for reduced recoil, but you may find less recoil at comparable velocities due to them being a lower pressure bullet. Seems like my 280ai had stiffer recoil with 145 gr Speer BTs than it does with the 143 gr Hunters at similar velocities. Might just be my imagination.
Just received some 146gr HH for my Sako 85 Finnlite in 7mm RM. Couldnt get it to group any factory ammo less than an 1.25". Rifle doesnt like anything in the 160gr range, that I have tried so far. I have H1000, Retumbo, 7977 and RL23. Which of those should I try first? Hopefully I can find a load for this rifle.
I'd try RL23, personally.

Average pressure produces velocity. Peak pressure breaks things.
Apparently Hammer bullets "know" how to average pressure.

ButterBean,I think you are right, in the US that's true.In the UK it's a different story, it's mighty expensive part of the equation.I didn't realise how good it is for you guys in the US I should move there,I think I would love it.
I always relate barrel life to operating a sports car. Lamborghini only gets driven on the weekend once or twice a month and when ya drive it, drive it like you stole it. Get a toyota to drive every day to work. These big flame throwers are very niche specific tools. Big critters a long ways off. Sure, you can burn a barrel pretty quick if you shoot em often in high volume but kept within reason I have no doubts mine will outlast me.
