Does anybody on here have any experience with the us optics ts 12 scope? I'm thinking the ilex reticle sfp. It's for my daughters 243 so that's why I'm staying with the simple reticle and sfp.

Going by what another shooter reported on the AGN forum....

He called US Optics, and inquired if the TS-12x would have much better glass than the similar compact 3-12x scopes from Discovery and Vector — at a fraction of the price ($200). He reports he was told not to get his hopes up.... (Sure, turrets are much nicer!)

For two years I've been using the Discovery VT-3 3-12x44 FFP. I dial most shots. At $200 a great compact scope.
It's available in SFP as well.

Vector Veyron is the third model, same 3-12x44, either FFP or SFP. $200.

I like the Discover FFP because it has thick outside posts —> so shots at low magnification are not a problem. 😊

I own a ts -20 zoom from 2.5-20 and first focal plane reticle covers too much of the target, glass is fuzzy above 10x, comparable to a bsa. Expensive ***.

The ST-10 passed all testing and was used successfully by U.S.Army,U.S.Navy,U.S.Marines for several years. Also sold to other countries worldwide.

I have a TS-12X on my .30 Gibbs, it is an MHR reticle and FFP (https://www.usoptics.com/product/ts-12x/).

My experiences with the U.S. Optics was a very little eye relief. That may not be the best choice for a newer shooter. Getting wrapped in the eyebrow is not conducive to good shooting.

I also used to think that way and was skeptical about having 2-3" of eye relief, considering most of my scopes are 3.5" and up. But once it is set up properly, it is actually better than I expected. Having a Picatinny rail allows more flexibility on the setup for optimal eye relief. In all fairness, there are other more expensive scopes, i.e., Nightforce SHV 4-14 (https://www.nightforceoptics.com/riflescopes/shv/shv-4-14x50-f1) with similar eye relief at 3.1 inches. Nonetheless, it is a consideration for the OP to make.

🔶 The Discovery version of this scope has an eye relief of 3.3" to 3.5" (85-90mm).

🔶 The US Optics version I found greatly discounted here (though still around $200 more then the Discovery versions): $375!

I can only speak with what I "actually" have and "my personal experience" with the scope in question. I paid $325 for mine.

I also have the T-20X and my experience is nowhere near yours. The optical clarity is very good, and that is looking with my old and uncorrected eyes. I paid $900 for it.
