Sponge painting stocks?

I've painted a few. It is really easy. I use krylon fusion too, and when im.done with the paint, I spray about 4 good coats of clear enamel on it, and then I let it sit indoors untouched for a week or more. If you mess with them much within a few days of painting them, they are easy to skin up. If you give the paint time to cure all the way, it is remarkably durable.

Lowes and home depot charge what could only be described as "criminal prices" for sea sponge. Walmart craft section sells a bag of small pieces for a fraction of the cost. I'd imagine whatever craft stores you have access to might be a better option for sponges. Lowes gets $16 for a sponge the size of a softball, while Walmart sells a bag of small sponges, (which is the form you'll use them in anyways), of about the same volume for like $4.50

I got a bag off amazon for a few bucks has five small ones maby that's enough, donyou guys wash them and reuse?

I don't wash them. The paint dries hard within a minute or two. I take a sharp knife and slice off the edge that has paint on it. Maybe an 1/8" slice each time I use one

Be careful with degreasers, I just used an aresol parts cleaner on a green RCBS cartridge tray and it started to dissolve. I was cleaning resizing lube off cases and the shoulders were green from the tray dissolving.

The krylon fusion is very durable as you said, when cured. It's just at tough as factory paint that comes on aftermarket fiberglass stocks.
