7mm WSM and RL26

Custom 7WSM with 24" barrel runs 150gr Barnes at 3200+ FPS on Lab Radar, 150gr Hammer at 3300+ FPS with .5 MOA at 100 yds. with RL 26 IN MY GUN - still fine tuning. I am currently using Win brass but am anxious to try some of the Bertran brass I recently rec'd.

I just got 1lb of reloader 26 wanting to try it with my factory 7mm wsm an 168 vld's. Currently trying Retumbo at 69 grains an around 1 inch group for my 2nd load attempt. Anyone have a good starting place for the Reloader 26 with grains?

Reloader 26 is the ticket in my 270 wsm brougton Barrel 26 " including break 3267 fps 66.7 grains powder 150 berger vld's didn't have enough reloader 26 to do more fine tuning it seems to being well though little over 1/2" h 1000 is also a problem to get that's what I was shooting before re26 got some re23 I may try

Firing the 143gr Hammer bullet in a custom 7WSM rifle with a 25" Bartlein bbl and using a Win case I got:
70.0 RE26 3,221
71.0 3,292
72.0 3,351
However, the accuracy node for this bullet in my rifle was @ 3,200ft/sec using RE23. Sub 1/2" moa groups at 400yds were common.

Reviving this a bit if anyone is still paying attention to 7WSM loads. Built one last month on savage short action. 2.935" OAL 162ELDX are thumping at 3180 w/68.8 of RL26 in a 23" carbon6. Made it to 69.2 and saw a bit of pressure( max on Alliant page is 71+). Working land spacing a bit this week to see if I can get under 1/2 MOA.

Well exceeding what I was hoping for. I know there's a big SAUM following, but happy I went WSM. Was going to look at 150s and 175s but with those numbers it just doesn't make sense. Very marginal gain.

What are your starting and max charges for RL23?

I'm running 67.1gr RE23 in a Win case with a Fed 215M primer for 3,185 ft/sec and single digit SDs. Accuracy is outstanding in my hunting rifle.

Not sure where I started with initial charge weight and never got past the 67.1gr charge because the accuracy was too impressive to try heavier charges. It's possible that a heavier charge would still shoot but I doubt that you could get the same velocities that RE26 can achieve.

Thanks I have both powders, I will try them both out. Couldn't find much data on rl23 anywhere.

I just started on the rl23 load with 140 badlands.
Starting at 66 grns but it seems quite compressed already. Did you notice your case capacity filling when you loaded yours? I'm using brand new Hornady 7 wsm cases working up a ladder from 66.0 to 68.0.
