SHERMAN MEGA LINE

Interested to see where this cartridge lineup goes. Have a couple custom rifles I'm building with ~3.5" magazines, give or take, and this might be just the ticket for performance in them.

Gotcha. Have you looked into shortening the Nosler lineup brass for testing? I was considering pushing the neck-shoulder junction on a 30/33 Nosler back to about 2" to form my own wildcat, which would let me load all but the heaviest 30 bullets out long as they should be and not end with something with far more powder behind it than needs be for a 30 cal.

Yes, I've already formed some 33 Nosler and will be using them for testing.

Well, that was a lotta fun Rich, for someone, somewhere...

Now that Ryan has departed, gone back to wherever he broadcasts elite knowledge, and ceased demanding respect here, the thread once again has good potential. 👋

Back to the regularly scheduled Sherman Mega Line information gateway, I hope.

I apologize in advance if this post is considered a hijack. Because Rich has the attention of a lot of Sherman users here, I'm hoping to get a little feedback from those in the know. Has anyone successfully used the .338 SS for elr stuff (1700+ yds)? I know 250 gr. bullets are about the limit, and 2800 fps is also about topped out, but have people gotten good accuracy and consistent waterline elevation running this cartridge. Thank you.

Who was it that said it wasn't possible to reach 3,050fps with that bullet? And yet you recorded velocity at 3,094fps with no excess pressure indications. Even had a good velocity node at that 'unattainable' 3,050fps.

You've cleared the deck of those possessed with the superior knowledge. No big surprise. Who has the greater experience with your cartridges, than you? Ryan?

Maybe Ryan will return for round 2, and revise his forecast. "But you'll never see 3,150fps!" Will be good for another laugh...
