Hunting with E-bikes

Make a exception for those with a doctor-certified disability, but no one has the right to hunt where their own body won't take them.
I agree, except I don't make exceptions. It is an impossible to implement rabbit hole of good intent. Motorized is motorized. Non-motorized is non-motorized. The rules are the same for everyone whether you have one leg or earned a purple heart. Besides, I don't know too many disabled folks who still ride two wheeled machines.
Some of the e-bike users here remind me of the "everybody gets a medal" crowd. Since they don't have the fitness or will to pedal or walk their butts in there, they think they should be allowed to ride an electric motor bike to chase those same animals. In my mind is represents exactly what is wrong in this country. Too dayem lazy to do the work, but still expect to enjoy the same fruits without the labor.

You are right it is hard to comprehend. Select few that have horses have sole access to areas. Self righteous to think ONLY those who have their OWN rights above other citizens? This is coming from a horse owner so if the land is to protected to eliminate access then let's do it right for all. Or let's understand that ALL people should have equal access rights. Land access is entitled to all, that is why we all are called "public land owners".

I recently interviewed a friend of mine to know what his experience has been like hunting with electric bikes. You can check out the article here: Hunting with Ebikes
You Sir have been very patient and quiet about this post but I do not blame you a bit. The article is well done and thanks for sharing.

This lazy average hunter still hunts on foot with a backpack 5-10 miles every outing. 28 miles was the longest I have done in one day. I guess I need to get into better sha
Good for you. So, it appears the issue you have with non-motorized trails is that you just don't WANT to pedal or walk in there. Am I wrong or does that sound like entitlement?

Yes, you are dead wrong with your assumption and stereotyping. Your analogy of being lazy can be applicable for those on horseback. A few friends of mine are.

Second that. The article is excellent. And I apologize if I have detracted from it in any way. But I do feel this is an important conversation to have amongst public land users, so thank you for the conversation starter.

Are you arguing that everyone should have access to every inch of public land using any means of transportation they wish? If not, then you acknowledge the need for certain rules regarding travel methods in certain areas, correct? If so, then what is the problem with a motorized vehicle being treated as a motorized vehicle when it comes to usage designations?

Figured that would light your tail feather. Sorry, but I didn't stereotype you. I simply observed from your own statements that you are quite a physical specimen and perfectly capable of pedaling or walking in on a non-motorized trail, but that you just don't want to. Instead you think you should be able to ride an e-bike on that trail. To me that just sounds entitled. That is my opinion of that mentality. And I'm sure you're not entitled.

Again, you keep stereotyping and stuck on entitlement. Who are you to decide on this matter?

Nope, I am presenting a position that everyone should have equal access depending upon mode of transportation including horses. I do not accept a bicycle or E-Bike being considered as motorized same as a bonafide gas powered vehicle. I see horses in same mode of transportation as an electric bicycle thus should be treated the same. And yes, there needs to be complete overhaul of accessibility based upon mode of transportation. I cannot accept that a horse is any different than any other mode of transportation and should be regulated within the modes of transportation similarly. So IMO, horse owners are "entitled" over everyone else?
1- foot
2 - horse, E-bike (750 W)
3 - ORV, motorcycle
4 - motor vehicle

I know were we live there are "rails to trails" bike trails, sighs everywhere No motorized vehicles, bike shop right on the trail just started to rent Ebikes.

So now a horse is equal to a 750W bicycle? 406muley
