It seems there are different cartridges being discussed. It has become hard to follow because you have to go back to see what actual cartridge is being discussed. It was suppose to be a 6.5PRC thread. Maybe we should add the cartridge to each reply to avoid confusion?

Has anyone tried the ram shot magnum?
I've had good results with n165 but think n560 is going too be better for vel the double base powder is hotter burning powder compaired too the single base if that matters but for a hunting load it probably doesn't I think the Swedish 6.5 x55 was loaded with n560 I'm going too give that a try in my 6.5 prc finally got 2 lbs a little faster than n 570

With RL26 in my SAC 6.5PRC I was hitting pressure signs at 55 grains with a CCi 200 primer with the 156 EOL. I have backed it down to 54.5 but have not retested. Hopefully I will get that done this week.

So I loaded my first rounds yesterday for a new rifle and set all the cases to max col is that a good starting point? I don't have the tool to measure the chamber.

I would think thats ok but usually you trim too recommended trim lenght so you dont have too worry about trimming every firing the case will grow a little each time fired hotter the load the more it grows I would think your chamber is cut too the same spec as all others except maybe the throat which wouldnt matter hope that eases your concern

Well the case length was under the trim like by .10" and it's brand new brass and I do understand that it will grow I just wasn't sure where to start for bullet seating depth so I did the oal of the 2.955 for case and bullet to start sense I have not got any factory loads for break in
