I have a Ruger No. 1 in 6mm Remington. Have taken Antelope, Deer (Whitetail, Mulies, Axis and Columbian Blacktail - Coues is in the bucket list), and some long shot parrie dogs with it. Wonderful cartridge. But the 243 overshadowed it, Remmington screwed the pooch on that one (244 Remington), so there is a limited amount of ammunition manufactured for it. You will need to get into reloading if you really want to have fun with it. I am starting to see limited amounts of components coming back on the shelves, so don't despair things are starting to get better. Get with someone that reloads and start learning the process. I belong to a Rifle & Pistol club and we support each other with help in reloading and components, so that might be a good place to look also. I stocked up a while back, I watched for sales and bought in bulk so to say. This has kept my nephew going also, guess I should change my name to "Uncle I Need".
I have quite a bit of brass and some extra reloading dies, so if that will help PM me. Just pay for the shipping and it yours.

Hey Ben, I am located in north eastern Maryland, on the I 95 corridor. (Between Philly and Baltimore.) It looks like you have a potential source for primed brass from dieseldoc? Assuming these have been full length sized. (I do not have 6mm dies.) I can donate powder, (RE 19 or IMR 4350) press and the knowledge, to provide you with effective and safe handloads. We also have a 100 yd range close, If you want to test different load combinations.

You will need to find some 6mm projectiles?

If you want to travel and can find bullets I would be happy to help you put some ammo together.

PM me if I can be of assistance.
Mine likes Reloader 19, 22 and 23!

I just went to Ammoseek and did a search for 6mmR. Holy Rat Feathers Bat Man!! $3.50/Rnd... I never realized how lucky I was when I picked up 6 boxes of 6mmBR in an auction.. At the time they retailed for $89/bx. I picked up all 6 boxes for $89. Never realized it was this bad since I have just a few rounds for ever gun I have in my collection.. Some a lot more than others, so haven't been in the buying market for a long time... Good luck on finding a few rounds and still have money left over in the checking account...

Hey bud I am also from Pennsylvania originally and my brother and Mom and Dad still live out there, I reload for his 30-06 since I'm stationed here in Colorado there are alot more (and it's still very meager) components on gunstore shelves. PM me and I can help you get hooked up with (some) components at my cost only I don't make any money off this like some people try too. I visit up 8 or 9 stores weekly and I can find sstuff

A bit of hope! You choose a 6mm caliber which is still very easy to find bullets for. Powder can be bought from powder valley, midway USA midsouthshooterssupply and grafs. Camp out on this forum and enable notifications, check the "unanswered threads" (threads with no reply) someone on here throws out a alert every time theses websites get powder in stock. Just be patient.

The FIRST and absolutely first thing you should do is begin buying reloading manuals, that way you can get an idea of what powders/bullets you want to try and make a "hit list" then you will be ready to make a quick decision on powder when it comes in stock.
They have those reloading manuals that incorporate many different powder/bullet manuals for one specific caliber/cartridge. Good place to start - a lot cheaper to start with versus buying all the manuals individually.

awesome gesture
I have a partial box (12) of 100 grain Rem Core-Lokts free of charge. I'm 10 miles west of Carlisle. PM me. You are going to love the 6mm Rem.
What town in PA are you in?
Chambersburg. I will be in Colorado from June 1 til mid August though. We just bought a house here in Chambersburg where I grew up and my folks still live. But we own a house in Summit CO Colorado that we need to rent out and move our stuff out of.

Keith please hang on to your purchase. I shoot a standard and improved 6mm. in my sons hands they put a fair amount of meat in the freezer.
The forum members are going to get you going. I could spare 30 rounds of new unprimed brass and some bullets. Shipping from Mn is on me.
That's very kind! I'm happy to pay the shipping
