Samson's Birthday Bernese Mountain Dog 8 Years old -Former Known as COYOTE KILLER

I am a Marine Vet - My best friend and companion (beside my lovely wife Jill) SAMSON has been with me 27/7 365 since I picked him up on 06/29/13. He was born on May 06-2013. He is now at 145 llbs. He goes everywhere with me. Kind of attached at the hip. He is very protective of our animals. The cats sleep on him and he does not let them fight amongst each other. He is like a ref, but do not try to hurt anyone in our family. Samson stays right next to Jill if anyone comes around. He knows when the perimeter sensors activate on our property and has teeth waiting. I would like everyone to wish Samson a Happy Birthday. In dog years he is at the end. Bermese only live 6 to9 years but he is very healthy. He doesn't listen to women. Jill has a problem with that, but don't try to come near her when Samson is on guard. What a GREAT day! Samson is also a very good Coyote Killer. I took him on hunts when he was younger and he ran a few down. Dispatched them faster than a bullet.

Nice pooch. We had our Greater Swiss mountain dog for 9 years before he died due to a tumor bursting on spleen. Swissy's are shorter hair. Great dogs.

Yes we have friends with Swisses - SUPER NICE Companions. It is just too bad these breeds only have a span of about 7 to 9 years, I have been at Bernese Club functions with12-13 year olds.

People who are not dog owners do not understand but your pet canine is somewhere between your blood family and best friend. Recently had our pet pit/American Bull Dog of 16 years passed from old age ... not pretty. Happy Birthday to Samson and hope he has many more. When his bugle call comes here's hoping he doesn't have to drag his feet.

Happy birthday to Samson. What an appropriate name for such a handsome dog. I get you on the age thing. My oldest springer turned 14 this week. Still running hard with no plans to stop hunting her until she says it's time. Every day is a blessing.

I wouldn't worry about the not listing to women thing as many males this species have the same problem on occasion.
