IMR 4166 and Hammer Bullets

You guys should be asking about load data from the manufacturer who has tested the Hammers. I'd never load anything based on any forum posts. What's so hard about making a phone call to the manufacturer? They'll usually email you the load data if you ask them.
There is no manufacturer load Data, start from the beginning of this post and read

We both did exactly what you stated so there's nothing "hard" about what you stated. "Steve" as mentioned above is the owner of Hammer Bullets.
No problem just just trying to help keep everyone safe. Since no one has a signature that says Steve or Hammer Manufacturer, who are you talking about?

I started from the top and read all posts. No one said there is "no manufacturer data". They only said they didn't have any data but the powder is close to xyz. Just because these forum members say they don't have data, definitely doesn't mean the manufacturer doesn't have any.

My Bad as I'm in a bunch of Hammer threads, the info I was referring to is in the Hammer Load Data thread There is no published Data as the Hammers are an Unconventional Bullet, They have load instructions on their website for the HH, The AH are completely in a league of there own, the folks that are giving advise are well schooled in loading Hammers, and I don't know what you getting at with bad communication skills

No one's handle is Steve and no one signed the bottom of their post as Steve or more importantly signed as "Hammer Manufacturer". This is poor communication skills.
The OP posted in one of his replies he "spoke with Steve". Us shooting the Hammers and doing load development with them are very familiar with who Steve is. Anyways.... moving on from a poor assumption. Happy Monday all.

I'm still not sure what your getting at but it's a small matter, the OP is in good hands so you can rest easy

Hello McCord,

I'm not sure where Reilly, Texas is but I'm north of San Antonio and could get you an 8 lb. can of Varget if the powder you have doesn't work out. PM me if you have any interest.

Thanks for the reply, Reilly Springs is about 10 miles South of Sulphur Springs. I am going to give the 4166 a try, I still have to order the Hammer Hunters, however was hoping to get some insight on any tested load data before I purchase them. Thanks for the offer, I appreciate it.

Tagging in here as well. I have a couple pounds of varget on hand but just grabbed an 8# jug of 4166. Planning on trying it with 140 absolute hammers in my 7mm-08ai when it's done. On my burn chart it's right in there with varget, 4895, blc2 and CFE223 .

In the absolute hammer thread spreadsheet it looks like it was used effectively in a couple short action rounds.
Where do you find 7 mm 08 ai load data I'm having one made and want to get some load information for it ?

I had been looking for Varget for awhile, but was able to find some IMR 4166 that is supposed to be similar to Varget. I plan on purchasing 110gr Hammer Hunters and 124gr Hammer Hunters in 6.5 for my Creedmoor, my question does anyone have any experience with the powder and bullets combo? I would like to hear what was your experience and what was the starting and stopping load, the brass I am using is Lapua LRP, primers are CCI 200. Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
With the 124 Hammers, I have had great success with RL16. So, the 4350 burn rate works well. If you have any BL-C(2), it is right there with Varget, so that's another option.
I think 4166 will work really well with the 110gr Hunters.

Is one of the Hammer Bullets owners a member here? If so, what is his LRH user name? Dang if I can figure it out. Thanks for the assistance.
Bob
