6.5 creed with the 156 Berger load data

Using Hornady brass, 47.6 gr RL 26 fit easily. Fairly heavily compressed load. Mag length 147 gr ELD.
I think it is the Hornady brass that is the difference. I'm using ADG and Lapua which both have less capacity than Hornady. Thank you.

fellas
going to reload for this caliber with 156 gr. Since now with a little time passed. I was looking for some updated information loading this with h4350 or r26.
if you could provide your load that would be great. As always I would verify and work up.
thanks.

46.6 RL26 in a Hornady case, CCI primers out of 2 different rifles. 26 inch Howa was near 2800 fps. 156 Berger of course.

What dies are You guys using per seating? Are they leaving marks or indentations on the bullets.
I'm using a Hornady bushing die set, and the ELD-X stem seem to be fine for me. It's my understanding from the Berger website that the hybrid ogive starts as secant and changes to tangent as the bearing surface, so a secant ogive stem should work for seating.

I called Berger's tech line for load data and discussed seating depth testing with the guy. They told me to use 0.015" off and back away in 0.005" increments for the hybrid because it's not a full secant ogive like the VLDs.

Bringing this one back up.

Anymore real world 156 numbers in a creed?
Hello,
I am very new on reloading my own. Also new on this site. Iv loaded my very first batch of 6.5 CM with Barnes Match Burner Bullets at 140 grain using Hodgdon 100V with one batch and IMR 4350. Using the recommended bullistic data that it requires. But I also have 500 bullets of Factory Second Bullets at 156 Grain that I cannot find any data on for this type of bullet and powders that I have. Do you have any suggestions or data on loading these Factory Second 156 Grain?
I have a RPR 24" barrel 1:8 barrel twist.

What do the bullets look like? It is most likely the 156 Berger, however there have been other 156's made, they were either round nose or a kind of blunted spire point type bullets. There would be somewhat of a difference in loading them, and a significant difference in ballistics between them.

For those of you who have reported using 46+ gr of R26, are you using a drop tube or is this compressed? I've not tested this but according to QL, based on my cases measured H2O, 46.1 of R26 is 103.7% fill with this bullet. It also says I should be around 2877 fps. I don't have a drop tube but may have to get one and order up some of these bullets. Currently shooting the 147 eld-M. I load up to mag length, 2.87 but could go to 2.91 if I want to single feed.
Yes definitely using a drop tube with mine.

Tikka 24.3" t3x superlite, lapua SRP brass, Rl26 cci450. The Tikka creed chambers have a mile of freebore. With a 156 touching I'm over 3" coal. 47.1gr rl26 with a 16" drop tube gives me consistent 2750fps. Seated anywhere from 40k off to 90k off. I never tried less than 40k jump due to mag constraints. 70 and 90k off both shot half moa or better. I hit pressure signs @ 47.8gr 2812fps.
