Absolute Hammer load data

Most find both Hunters and Absolutes very easy to tune to a good load. Got some curiosities:
1) Did you break in your new barrel(s)?
2) what is your barrel cleaning regimen?
3) all hammers seem to like some jump. It sounds like you're trying to seat them as long as your magazines allow.
Try starting your seating to the last pdr band - then go deeper into the case
Keep us posted!
I'm curious as well

For reference sake could you mark on a pic of a bullet of what the last PDR band is?

Thanks

124 HH, The top groove is where to seat them

Are you crimping ?

That is where I typically seat, and these ones maybe even a touch higher with the short magazines for cartridge (Tikka for the 280, model 7 for the 7-08). All crimped with Lee FCD, with similar crimp to what I have done with HH and SH I have have loaded with great success. Varied the crimp with minimal change. Its a head scratcher- I'm getting great consistency of velocity, but accuracy hasn't followed. The 155 slowed down to 2980 shot very well- those two groups below were the six I shot to see if a little extra crunch bothered it at all (One was 58.0, one 58.3 RL23). ES for both charge weights combined was 11. That load will do all I really need it to do, but is probably down to 1800 inside 600 yards. The 7-08 is probably accurate enough to be the 400 and in gun it is meant to be, But it would be nice to get it a little tighter. Hopefully it will like the 119 or 120 more.

Oh that one is great- it was all the other faster powders (as suggested) that wouldn't group. This was the first sub inch group out of a whole bunch of these + the 140s. Didn't tighten up until I went to traditional for bullet weight powder. I'll shoot some slower powder with the 140s as well and see if they come around. Might try the same with the 130s in the other rifle- maybe H4350 burn rate instead of Varget.

I just never found the other Hammers to be picky at all. Speeds varied, but whatever I put under them seems to put them in about the same spot. Low ES does seem to be effortless with the AH so far.

Well after lurking for years, the community support for the AHs got me to join and share results. 1st Post.
