Ok so this is random but I loaded up some 168 grain Berger VLDs in my 7mm STW. I did the various seating depths per Berger's instructions and the top won't close unless I force it on my MTM ammo case. It lists the 7mm STW as a compatible cartridge for the box but I'm assuming the long VLDs seating far out are well beyond SAAMI COAL for the 7mm STW.

Will having some pressure on the bullet tips from the plastic box mess up the seating depth or tips?

Use MTM J-20 LLD; it is good for 3.84" OAL unless yours is longer.

Peterson had some deep cases
I use the second one for 30-378 loaded over 4".
I know they are out of stock now but it would be an option when available.

It's close and pushes on top.

Feenix, General RE Lee has a unique long throated STW chamber, something on the order of 220" long.
I found this quite puzzling as my own reamer has 'zero throat' and the leade in total is only .076" from memory.

Would need a 4" box to be able to seat anywhere near the rifling with a .220" long throat.

Cheers.
