CO - Gray Wolf Reintroduction eNews Edition

Ballot box biology is the worst way to manage wildlife.

But look at the governor they elected. I'm sorry fellas, but your beautiful state has been destroyed by people who could no longer afford the government they wanted in California, so now they are going to turn your state into the hell hole they left.
I live in Colorado, and this is so true it hurts.

Too bad Colorado has to deal with wolves, but to think they will kill all the game is overly dramatic. We've had them in Montana since 1995 and I kill a bull every year. Idaho and Wyoming have them, and in Wyoming you can kill three elk a year. As far as shooting out of wolves, no chance. Just makes you a poacher, and pretty expensive I bet. Lots of eyes in the woods these days. Think about this. Wolves were not reintroduced to Montana. I remember all the "we will kill em all" talk. Didn't work out so good. And they will find their way to other parts of the state. As the packs grow, they will disperse. Just how wolves work. 406muley

Voters do what voters do.... You can't fix stupid. Now that the voters have set this in motion, I can't wait to see the outrage when the wolves start preying on the young of the abundant west slope wild horses. Watching the wolf lovers and wild horse people go at it will at least be entertaining. I always thought introducing wolves to Central Park and the affluent NY suburbs would at least be educational for those who don't appreciate how brutal ma nature can be and want to impose it in other people's backyards. Yes, I have a demented sense of entertainment....and who needs a practical education.

Exactly the same reason why we now have mountain lions in MI. The DNA has been confirmed to be from western states and likely just the normal dispersal of younger animals seeking new territory. But when you re-introduce a far ranging predatory species like wolves into a "limited" area like the MI UP, how in the world as a biologist trained in their behavior can you believe they will stay there? They have to keep extending their range to accommodate the increased population that does not have any predation on them except for maybe vehicles?

This would be like introducing a fresh water shark into Lake Michigan and think they will only stay in there.

This is just another TRAVESTY of Justice brought on by invironmentalists
that dont even live in Colorado. Was put on the Ballot for everyone to vote on when it only effects the Western Slope. Should have been decided on by the people that Raise livestock and the ones that buy Hunting License in the areas .

Sad but true, unfortunately it's not 'just' Colorado, it's the whole country.

In case you missed, despite Wolves, the WY Elk herd is still too large and only Wolves kill cows and calves.

They are a predator in most of the state and may be shot on sight.

Habitat destruction is a far greater problem than Wolves in Kalirado.
