Long story short all I have right now is Fed210's. I have a 300 PRC on the way. I will be using h1000 but have limited supplies, so I don't want to waste supplies trying things out. I know it will "work" but don't want to waste powder on sub par performance. The goal is to confirm a solid load and get 50-80 loaded for hunting for the for seeable future. The 210's work great on my 6.5 PRC but that's with 59 gr not the 80+ I'll be using in my 300 PRC. What's your experience using large rifle primers in a magnum round?

I am northern Utah so probably too far to help. Maybe someone closer will be able too.

I'm in the same situation but the other way around. I can use LRM primers in a .243 or 6.5cm?? I'd assume just start lower with the powder?

Let us know how it goes! I have had good luck using LR primers in my 300HH.

Usually I'll run a standard primer up to 70gr. or so of easy to ignite powder. More and it's a mag. primer no matter what. Harder to ignite powder gets a mag primer earlier. H1000 is a single base stick powder so it should be easy enough to light, but it may suffer a bit in cold weather.
As to the poster that asked on mag. primers in smaller cases... yup, they work... the pressure may go up a bit but things get going in a hurry then; I like to use mag. primers in a single shot pistol for that reason.

I've been using H1000 in a 300 Wby and 25-06. It is a joy to deal with in both cases, haven't had any trouble getting single digit ES with both rounds. Using fed 215 and 84 grains of powder with 200 gr bullet in the Wby. Don't think I have any 210's left but I will try to load up a couple of rounds with standard primers next time out to see how they behave. Temps are running around 50 so that should be a fair test. I know I have WLR and rem 9 1/2 primers, Think I should be able find a few 210's from the guys at the LGS.
