Looking for a hunting scope for my Bergara Highlander. I am fine either SFP or FFP, both seem to have their benefits. I am looking at the Nightforce NX8 4-32x50. Does anyone have any experience with this scope? How does the reticle look at 4x for a FFP? Shots in Colorado can be close and want to make sure the reticle is visible lol. Anyone compare this to an NXS?

I really like the Vortex Gen 2 for the price, but it is SO heavy.

I am open to any other scopes too

I have nxs & nx8. You can't go wrong with the 4-32 nx8, I have the 2nd fp. The glass is better than the nxs but the weight is awesome for a hunting rifle
Which one do you like best? The weight is definitely perfect for a hunting rifle. The 4-32 also would cover just about any distance you can shoot.

I have the NX8 as described in FFP and I would not hesitate to say that if in the dark timber and scope set at 4X the reticle maybe difficult to see. Also on the high end I find it useful for looking at game way off, but maybe difficult to shoot at that magnification since I find the reticle a bit too thick. I am sure others will disagree, but this is my honest opinion.

Yeah that is my fear with the FFP NX8. But I would imagine that is the case for most FFP scopes?
