I will not be getting 'the vaccine'...

So it's ok to bash the COVID vaccines for adverse reactions/deaths, but give the flu vaccines a pass because the CDC never kept track of or documented even a single death from the flu vaccines over the years? Sounds like comparing apples to apricots.

At least before you get a flu shot they ask whether or not you are allergic to eggs or egg products. The opportunity for me to get even the first shot is still a ways off.

People talking about how this type of vaccine has been worked on for several years are overlooking the fact that is actually been in development for at least 20 years, and the reason its never been used is because they haven't been able to get it to work successfully. Plus there have been a lot of concerns about additional effects of such a vaccine. Risking it through to production seems more politically expedient than wise to me.

I'm with those who just don't see numbers to justify the response we have made. For example, in 2017 the number of people in my state who died from respiratory illness was just over 1000. In 2020, they told us that there were no other respiratory illnesses, only Covid, and the number of Covid deaths didn't pass the "normal" number until the 3rd week of December. I fail to see that as a significant difference.

I realize that some on the front lines, particularly those who work in the ER, have a different perspective seeing the bulk of the sicker patients, but reports of being overwhelmed with Covid patients are far less convincing to me than actual numbers, and those numbers just don't add up. Not that it matters, but I am a physician, and was in the ER numerous times at the peak of Covid cases in our area (which made national news due to the spike in numbers), and to be honest neither the ER nor the visual ever seemed one bit busier than normal. Just my anecdotal observation.

I'm with you. Gonna give it time to play out. Have no sense I need the injections immediately, or else I'm at extreme risk of permanent loss of health should I contract this China virus. Trust my own immune system more than I trust these injections at this moment in time.

the numbers never matter. it's just about control. just like after 9/11, people were ready to give up their privacy so we could make sure that there were no terrorists living next door planning another attack. same can be said for guns, they want to ban AR15s when on average over 2 times as many people are killed by feet, fists, hands or blunt objects.

Tell that to all the people on ventilators in your local hospital. They would gladly change positions to get your spot in line for a vaccine..

Agreed. I have a 41 year old previously healthy co-worker who just had a double lung transplant for Covid, but that is so far outside the norm that it's not worth worrying about. The list of daily activities with far higher risks is quite long.

I had the first shot a couple weeks ago at the VA and in a couple weeks I'm scheduled for the 2nd shot. I figure why not? It doesn't cost me anything and just like getting my bike blessed it may not help but it doesn't hurt either.
In the meantime I'll keep wearing a mask and keeping my distance from folks when I'm out and about. Again; it may not help but it doesn't hurt either.

A friend of the family is a respiratory pulmonologist, and was saying that there is going to be an epidemic of respirayory problems in this country in the near future from constantly rebreathing or co2. He was telling us Humans are not plants they need fresh oxygen, he has voiced his concern to the powers that be but was told that if he did not keep quite he would be reprimanded.

That's probably because what he is spewing is complete BS. You should tell him to stick to his day job and let the people who specialize in gas transfer teach him a thing or two.
Case in point: People actually do jobs that require actual respirators on a daily basis, for 8+hours per day. Hardly any issues with respiratory problems documented. Surgical mask are extremely more efficient at gas diffusion than a respirator. You breathe in CO2 without a mask, it along with Nitrogen, and other gasses make up what we refer to as "atmospheric air" and is what you breathe all the time. Your "oxygen" is actually only around 19-21% of that "air". I'll let you determine how much of it diffuses into a paper mask before you breathe in....
