I will not be getting 'the vaccine'...

And everywhere else in the world where restaurants are closed but they don't have guns to be taxed out of.... that the Left again?

I work for the military overseas and we are in tight spaces. We all wear a mask and practice social distancing to the maximum and we only have had a single positive case since the beginning of COVID here in Italy. For the past 6 months its been rampant here and our measures are still working.

How did that person contract coronavirus? Yep, at a Halloween party where people weren't wearing masks. Turns out a girl that showed up there was positive asymptomatic and he got it just from standing next to her for about a half hour and chatting it up. Luckily the PCR test that is apparently wrong so much was right on the money and we were able to contact trace and keep everyone there from showing up to various work locations. He tested positive and then became sick and was still testing positive 25 days later (called a long term positive).

Wear a mask or don't - its a personal decision unless you are like us Military folks that are ordered to do so in an attempt to mitigate spread in the event asymptomatic. Either it works (for the past year) or we are the luckiest bunch of SOBs in Italy.

Do you think the doctors in a surgical setting are wearing masks to protect themselves or the patient?
Hey if you enjoy the taste of the kool-aid by all means continue drinking. It's not hard to find facts about what's going on....if you turn off your tv and open your eyes.
It wearing them makes you feel safe, keep wearing one. I will pass....

Again, mask wearing prevents me from giving it to someone else by slowing or preventing vapor in my breath from being deposited on someone a few feet off. Your study didn't address that. Wearing the mask is simple and non-invasive. If we learn at a later point it wasn't very effective, we aren't out much as a society for having tried. If nothing else, sewing them keeps my mom busy in her free time. Everyone has to have a hobby.

With regards to the heart disease and cancer, if I get those as a result of my choices I can't give it to someone else. Cancer will not spread from me to another person. Covid, however, can. And we can also stop it from doing so.

If I don't wear a seatbelt or I Ihoose to smoke 3 packs a day, that realistically only impacts me. If I get covid and spread it through careless actions I've impacted many others. I'm a big proponent of rugged individualism and I accept that also means being accountable for how my actions impact others.
So, stay home.

Yup, I've been doing my part as much as possible. Sure would like it if we could beat this thing, but that will take a whole lot more than just me. My whole point here is, if you can do something to help someone else you should. That is a sentiment I have heard from a lot of people on this forum and it applies to this as well. If you can help someone else (wear a mask, keep distance, don't go to social gatherings), you should.

I buried my Mom yesterday.
There's a FACT I can prove for you.
She was 73 but perfectly healthy. Looked 60 , worked full time and did anything she wanted.
Not even on cholesterol or blood pressure meds. She died FROM COVID... nothing else. Oh, and she was taking vitamin D, C and Zinc regularly if you think that's a preventative.

Sure the media and politicians have used this for their own gains. But while you argue about car crash victims being counted as Covid deaths, the Spanish flu being worse, whether the death numbers are right or whatever other trivial BS that you using to convince yourself this isn't as bad as they are making it out to be, you are killing people.
That's right YOU!
You that's taking this lightly and going about your day while taking no precautions. Your risking your life a well as others. If you think you're Ok because you're fairly young and healthy guess again.
It all depends on how YOUR body reacts to it. If you have an inflammatory response to this virus you are likely done.. regardless of age or condition.
Guess you'll find out when you get it.

Occam's razor!

btw my comment is not in regards to rammerjammer losing his Mom. it was in regards to another post and I did not hit reply to that person directly and it ended up at the last page of this thread. Unfortunately, it looks like I was responding to him.

To rammerjammer,
my sincere condolences to you for your loss. Realize this thread is full of very well meaning compassionate people from all walks of life. I am confident none would take your loss for granted or anyone else's that has lost someone to covid - the fact is most would agree we as the public are being lied to directly and or information is being held from us at the very least and my comment of Occam's razor was in regards to that fact.

Sorry for the loss of your mother. My sincere condolences.
However nothing being posted in this thread equates to any Forum member killing other people.

It saddens me greatly to see this drive such a wedge between us........ even to the extreme of telling people that if they don't do what you want them to do, reguardless of facts, they are killing people. I'm always amazed at how some people "know" they are right, and everyone else is wrong.......πŸ€”. There is much in history about giving up rights out of fear, only to realize later what you really gave up. I think for me that's the hardest part is to see due process being ignored, "laws" made on the fly, and people being ok with bending rules out of fear of a virus. Peoples livelihoods are being destroyed and people don't care because it makes them feel safer...........

Let's have a civil discussion as has been asked, I always feel that when you have to resort to name calling, threats, or slander you have already lost your argument.

The vaccine wasn't created to save you from a pandemic, The pandemic was created so you would all take the vaccine
