Vista Outdoors, the parent company of Federal, CCI, etc. must be thrilled with their purchase of Remington ammunition for $81M. The ammo industry has over $1B in backlog.

The only primers I have seen on the shelf lately are Federal and CCI.
Yeah. That's the only primers I use. I need fed 215 and 210 if anyone has any.

Little harsh description, wouldn't you say? You're certainly entitled to disagree with the new administration, but to use derogatory terms isn't warranted.
I wouldn't have made those comments on this forum but doesn't mean I don't think like he does. Still canceling him from this forum IF it was his first and only "harsh" comment was extreme. Just my opinion. It's not my forum so I'll shut up

Ask yourself, if you were CEO of a company like Federal, would you entertain spending billions to build a new plant for a demand that will prob be caught up to in 6-12 months. I certainly wouldn't.

I would consider expanding, they run a risk that the dealers generating the demand may not be around to purchase by the time they get caught up. IMO the profit from 1B in gross sales is nothing to sneeze at. A new factory may not need to be built but the currently unneeded warehouse space could house a few more presses. Otherwise the wholesalers and big internet retailers will have to build the warehouses to handle the inventory for retail sales. It could create one heck of a distribution bottleneck if the retailers cant weather the storm. One can only sell so many holsters.

I'm good with this explanation and I'm good on components for a long while.

If you didn't plan accordingly from the the last powder shortage, what were you thinking?! There were still plenty of components to be had, through mid August or right before hunting season's started happening.
Well, I get it but what I was thinking is I've never been a reloader during any shortage. Combined with a profound lack of steady employment for a couple years until October I was in no shape to get ready for going without. But again, I get it. It's so worth having more than you can use.

I don't think or speak about people I disagree with like that and I don't condone that happening around me in my personal life. I've got no sympathy. I'm very grateful for a moderated, civil forum.

I agree, I don't think like he does but I still wouldn't have bounced him if this is his first infraction. Biden and Harris aren't in my top 100 picks, but there's no need to use those terms. But that's just me.

Did you watch the video? He specifically talked about that for almost 2 min. Answer was they were not.
What I heard seemed to be that "We're making all the money we can off loaded ammo and can't spare any primers, so why don't you guys just buy our loaded ammo, so we can sell you the bullets, primers and cases, and powder all in one package!" Yes, I'm a cynic...I've also been watching the news!

It's a very unfortunate time, to start handloading, indeed!

Well I was at it for a couple years hot and heavy, then got bored with the equipment I had and was too unemployed to upgrade until... last November. I'm shaking my head too, don't worry.
