I have read a lot of negative reviews of CA rifles but that was a few years ago so o never really gave them much consideration. I wonder if they have gotten any better. I was looking at the Ridgeline for around $2000.
Just looked at Proof Elevation rifle at $3000 and wonder if it is worth the extra $1000.

both are similar weight and have the sub MOA guarantee.
Is there a reason to spend the extra money on the Proof rifle vs the CA?

seems like there are a lot more people selling CA rifles on this website vs selling a Proof rifle....

Likely just way more Ridgelines have been sold than Proof rifles. New Ridgelines used to go on sale for $1,500 fairly regularly, making the Proof about 2x the cost. Those same deals probably aren't available in the current environment. They're stuck at a $1,500 gun in my mind so $2K is a pass.

Once you get to $3K territory, going full custom starts being an option. Very painful if you're looking for instant satisfaction.

I hear you. I have a custom being built but it take a long time and prices seem to be closer to $5000 for them. Dallas Lane is building me a rifle and he was a little on the high side for price from my research but I really didn't find any custom builders under $4k unless I supplied the original rifle or action which I don't have anyways

I bet he's the top rifle builder alive today, in many peoples mind. He's top of my list based on reputation. I'd love to have one of his rifles.
