New powder scale suggestion's

The FX120i with various elements of the auto trickler. I use scope for the initial drop and have the AutoTrickler and BT connection. Some/many use the auto thrower.

IMHO. I used "common" scales for 30 years, then I decided to get serious about shooting consistent 1/4" groups and purchased an a&d 120i with electric tickler. Once I tuned the a&d, I checked charges from the other scales - they were often off by 3-4 kernels. I threw the common scales away and haven't regretted it once. The customer service for the a&d is excellent. It's expensive, but well worth it. I've been using the a&d for about 10 years now.

My RCBS 5-0-5 Beam balance is still my backup to check electronic scales, and evey ten rounds when reloading. In fact, if loading 10-15 rounds, I just use the BB.

I have a Chargemaster, and I've been disappointed with it recently. It's about 5 years old, and appears to be weighing charges about .2 grains heavy. I don't know if there's something I can do to re-calibrate it.

I use a charge master and a gempro to checkweight. Had my buddy weigh a couple of pieces of brass on his fx for me that I use to confirm the gempro and it has been within .02 consistently.
I cut a straw and stuffed it the chargemaster trickler. It has greatly reduced the over charges. I'm usually within 2-3 kernels of powder when verifying the weight. (VV N140)

That being said, if I had to do it all over again, I would jump into the fx but this was my starter kit and it's acceptable. I am chasing similar tiny groups (.2-.3) and consistency for PRS and casual benchrest league shooting.

I just went through scale troubles ended up with a
Frankford Arsenal Intell-dropper works great I had the
lyman Accutouch also and A&D EJ-120 Frankford Arsenal platinum series and a MyWeigh iBalance 101 the MyWeigh was an excellent scale and I still have one for a back up also use it to double check the Intelli-Dropper the only Problem with the
MyWeigh is their customer service sucks go on
oldwillknott web sight good prices and the gal that runs their customer service knows what she is talking about

I have a Lyman....as long as you set the charge back a bit...say .4 grains and finish with a manual trickle charger they work fast....but that's the only problem I find with it.....they run too fast and throw too much powder!

I'm throwing with the Lyman Gen 6 and then trickling with Redding Trickler onto a Grizzly Powder scale that reads to .01 grains. It allows me to load to the grain. It's a little time consuming but not terrible. And it's cost effective for my application. I'm getting SD's in the 6-8 range and ES's as low as 10 but usually in the 12-14 range.

Skipglo do you use the little black screw in tube insert? It slows the drop down a little, and takes a little longer to dispense, but it's very accurate. I throw to the value, and then either tap a couple grains out of the cup or add a couple grains. It's 99.99% less than .1 either way. I find it be very accurate and relatively quick.

My fill buzzer will go off anywhere. Sometimes it is 3-4 grains off. I have another digital scale to double check the Chargemaster, because I have absolutely no trust in the Chargemaster

well after a lot of research and some of your suggestions, i bit the bullet and put my $50 deposit on the V3 combo kit offered by CE products inc $960 for the A&D fx120 i, v3 auto thrower and v3 auto trickler, and all the extra's. with an 8-10 week lead time

I have a rcbs charge master lite and love it. I had a Lyman 6 Gen but it liked to eat up tube seals so I got rid of it.. no issues at all with the charge master lite

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get that bullet tray for the 550?

It's the factory Dillon bullet tray from Dillon. It's mounted on an Inline Fabrication Quick Changle Ultra Mount so it sits at a little different angle and appears a little different than when it's mounted on the factory Dillon Strong Mount.
