Loss of Love for Leupold, New scope time.

OK FIRST off SIR:rolleyes: it's SHE. Hi my name is Calli, I'm not just some stupid dude on the internet puffing my chest out and running my mouth, but it appears a few on here are that way because they cant apparently read.. I am sorry that I can't just drop everything and immediately respond. I have been trying to keep tabs on it so I know what to respond to and whose just flapping their jaws. Responding takes time some time for some of us. Yesterday when I started this post I had a 20 min cycle time between parts where I could respond and keep up, today not so much. I don't work for any optics manufacturer and but have worked in the firearms industry in manufacturing, so I'm not some oblivious newbie. I am machinist so I'm just not talking out my hat, and trying to make people butthurt. There is a post on the 2nd page, with a picture of a TARGET explaining things, what more do you want to know? I have nothing to hide and nothing to gain from "stirring the pot" so maybe pop a midol and chill buddy. The scope Failed to hold zero there's a target to prove it. I don't use my rifle as a boat paddle or a hammer, but given your attitude I could see you being that type.
I apologize for getting your gender wrong, my assumption was in poor taste. However, I maintain the point that I made. Zeroing a rifle and then trashing through the mountains for a week and having a poi shift is a **** far site from evidence of a scope malfunction. In my experience, you are about a hundred times more likely to have moment in your rings or bases, or more specifically the screws that hold them together than the actual scope. You'd have to do some box testing or some test shooting before you could determine that the fault lies with the scope itself. What will you do when Leupold returns it and tells you that there is nothing wrong with the optic? Trash their customer service and sell it swearing to never purchase from them again? Now, if you re-zero the optic with all of your components torqued and while firing it begins to walk, then you might have an argument. It could be an ammunition problem. Some lots of factory ammunition can cause a poi shift as far as you've had. There are a dozen things that could have caused your problem. A muzzle brake could have spun loose a half turn. I have been playing this game all of my life, and I have seen way too much of this to believe the scope just decided to move on it's own, and you don't seem to have done nearly enough testing to be bashing the company. But hell, I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time. I just wanted to know how you eliminated the other dozens of variables before you decided the problem was definitely in the scope. I've also seen people zero their rifle with a warm bore, and then their cold bore shots (in rare cases) will have a significant shift in poi. I apologize for being insulting, but I was really intrigued by your issue, as I own dozens of leupold optics including binos and spotters, and I've used them religiously for decades without any real issues, so if your issue is authentic, I want to know. Thank you

I personally read all of her comments and don't see anything "bashing". She's lost confidence in that scope. Looks like she went back and shot it and posted the target as evidence it's not holding zero. Your post or posts were quite insulting and antagonistic. You "bashed" the OP in a way that's quite embarrassing from a fellow member. Come down to earth man and chill out. We're here to help each other and I would think if the OP was to realize after the fact she made a mistake she would claim so, I would. The scope is with Leupold so let's see what they say and stop making assumptions and accusations.

Thanks for restating what I already said, I appreciate it. I'm sure someone was waiting for you to come in here and save the day. If I had a cape I'd send it to you.

Isn't that special ladies and gents we have a comedian in the audience. Moving on....
And if you don't see any bashing here, which was the reason I was so bent on finding out what happened, read the title of this thread again. "Loss of love for Leupold". It doesn't say loss of love for my vx6 or loss of love for the scope I carried into the mountains. It is clearly bashing the brand. This is America, and brand bashing is totally within one's rights, but I think that if one is going to slam the only American optics maker left with a hundred year history of quality, they should do their due diligence to be sure that the bashing is justified. But hey, that's just my opinion.

No kidding.

I've heard form other members your pretty loyal to Leupold and that you refuse to believe that people can have issues. I'm not new to this. I have been into long range rifles since I was 14 years old and at one time worked and was pretty involved in the firearms industry. I know how to torque things and build a rifle. I also reload and am super careful and very dedicated to precision. If it was something I did I would have admitted it. Unlike a guy I don't have some macho ego I've got to defend. You don't make it in my profession without being OCD about everything, therefore that thoroughness transfers into everything I do in my life. As far as a tracking test goes seen as you're dying to know. It didn't pass. It consistently failed RTZ L to R. It didn't fail miserably but it was enough I left my 28 Nosler at the truck and took my 300 wsn backup rifle instead.
I have been a member on here since I was a junior in high school(12 years) and people with poor attitudes like yours pretty much didn't used to make it long on here. The way you acted yesterday and continue to antagonize others like JGS definitely speaks poorly of your character. As far as leupold having a "100 years of Quality" They haven't. There have been times not too far in the distant past that they had issues... A casual stroll through this forum and other forums are evidence of that. In fact there was a time those of us in the firearms industry knew that Leupold was having issues and we didn't run those optics even though we got a really good industry discount from leupold and knew their customer service was very very good. It wasn't because we disliked leupold, it was just the risk wasn't worth it. You can continue to try and make me the bad guy but your true colors have already outed you. Your the one whose hell bent on making this a bashing thread. I simply said my VX6HD failed and was looking for a different option. Have a good day.

I would never say that any manufacturer can't have issues, that would be a ridiculous claim, and surely anyone who makes as many products as a company like leupold will have issues. Thank you for finally telling us that it didn't pass a tracking test. That was good information. As far as everyone's feelings are concerned, I don't live my life wondering if my statements are polite enough for everyone to love them. I speak directly, and I communicate my points and ask direct questions when I'm seeking information. As far as your challenge to the leupold reputation of quality, you are simply wrong. I don't care how many people told you that their friend's cousin had a problem with one, that doesn't make a statement like yours a truth. As far as how long you've been here and as to whether or not I'll be around long: I'm again, not concerned. I hate that you had a bad experience with your optic, and I'm sure leupold will make it right, like any respectable company would. Have a nice day..

Might give meopta a try meopro meostar optica 6 optica 5 a lot of choices not made in China or Japan great glass not a night force but a third of the price for european glass they used to make some of zeiss scopes but now there doing there own I think theve been in buisness sine 1930 thats my scopes of choice these days
Sure hope they upped their quality control as I have a pair of binos that can't keep the diopter setting. Sent it in twice for the same issues with no real fix. Never again will meopta be in my hands😔

That's what I remember. Sounds like the new ones are better, but still can possibly have issues. Looks like unless I buy a March, that I will just have to possibly go with something a little heavier and just run a 10lb rifle.
Use these times to iron out issues so in the future you are good to go. No kid is able to have everything ready as they don't have enough experience to sort it out 🤠 you now have experience 👍
